[Episode 150394] [Episode 150394]It had received orders from the Overmind to seek out potential psionic life-forms for it to experiment on, and it had gone out to do that. Last contact it had from the Overmind was that it had found one, a 'female' of the human species, and had started to experiment on her. It had wanted other beings that could be a back-up in case something went wrong, and thus sent out its Mind Seekers once again.
Well, this Mind Seeker certainly managed to fulfil its job, and was taking its prey (plus one) down the dark sewers to the deepest parts of the city where it could work undisturbed. Luckily for it, the two passengers were knocked unconscious, so it easily inject into them bio-chemicals that would start the process, and keep them in a deep sleep until it was ready to release them as part of the Brood.
Going through its genetic information, it found the process that the Overmind was starting to use on that 'Kerrigan' female, and started to do the same to the pink haired one. It psionically probed the young mind and learned of a name, 'Usagi', while a deeper probe gleemed it information on a world beyond its understanding. But that crystal... It echoed with something within the Mind Seeker, something that it seemed to know, but can't exactly remember.
It stopped the probe on Usagi for a moment and 'turned' its mental eye to the other young one. 'Momoko' was the name it found in Usagi's mind. The Mind Seeker considered for a moment and decided that once Usagi became part of the Brood, she would require a drone to start a Hatchery. It was the basic of the basic, and all Zerg had the knowledge that they were once parasitic worms that were changed depending on what the Overmind wanted.
However, the Zerg were hunters: they knew instinctively how to hunt, especially when they were low on numbers. It couldn't spare too much resources on Momoko, but it could give her a small modification so that her physical abilities are more similar to a Zerg and so that she will become a living Hatchery; instinctively able to produce Larves for the new Brood that will bloom from Usagi. Of course, she would be loyal to the new Usagi through the psionic contact she'll have (as would any larve that is born from her), but when they remake contact with the Overlord, this world will fall for the Overlord!
Of course, what it didn't know was that there was a snowball's chance in hell that what happened to it would happen again, which is the same chance as another Overmind appearing.
