"I don't enough know where to start," she admitted. "But we're under the gun, so what do you need me to do, and how can I do it?" She carefully avoided looking at Jadeite, not wanting to have to confront those feelings right now.
Zoicite spoke up while the others considered how to phrase things. "We need you to find the others, and bring them here. And quickly. Fortunately, you've got some advantages: Countess Mercury was a spy, scout and infiltrator, so you've got a considerable array of sensory powers at your disposal. When you take on your Aspect as Mercury, and raise up your Attribute, there is almost nothing that can be hidden from you. Also, the same spell that made Countess Mercury reincarnate in you will have kept her Senshi together, so you'll be naturally drawn to the others. They'll be women too, of your age, and in some way noteworthy."
Jadeite continued, "But you've got some problems too: Mercury was the least of the Senshi in many ways. The least powerful, the least combat skilled, the frailest - of course, that only means you can probably take a sledgehammer and stay standing when Jupiter could stand up to a tsunami's impact and survive."
Beryl smiled, "Very true, Mercury was always delicate. Gentle, sweet natured, and as kind as her position allowed. You've inherited that much. You do also have one power you should be able to use without training: You can create banks of fog, chillingly cold and impossibly thick, to hinder and confuse your enemies. It may sound trivial, but a girl of your intellect should be able to find a few uses for it."
Zoicite picked up again, "In case you're wondering, we can use nearly the entire output of our sun to fuel magical workings. But we can only feed on a little of that, and we can't store its power for long. That's why we had to do what we did: We can only store the power we raise from within ourselves and others."
Again Jadeite picked up the thread, "So the next Senshi you bring to us, we'll be able to awaken without what we had to put you through. With your full cooperation, an afternoon of ritual loving between us six will be enough."
Ami sagged with relief, "That's wonderful. But my clothes?"
Finally Nephrite spoke up, "Your own clothes are fine. And time flows differently here; this last week has only been a few hours on Earth. Your parents will be worried, but not panicked. You'll have to work out how to change between your regular self and Mercury, it's not something we ever needed to develop. But we're still under pressure, you've only got a few days to work, so I'd suggest you take them, find yourself a room, and see if you can work it out while we prepare the portal back."
Ami stepped up to Jadeite, trembling head to toe, then kissed him, firmly and deeply. When she came back, the rituals needed would be fun. Then she blushed bright red, and ran from the room.
