Haruka Ten'ou was Ruka "Panther" Skye, was someone who had been born and raised in Germany and was well on track to become a racer. There wasn't a whole lot of angst, bitterness, or frustration in her life. Here she could be a woman and pursue masculine interests, and she could enjoy life as it came.
Mina Lovejoy (formerly Minako Aino) was from Liverpool, was fairly happy and well adjusted, and might have been a disaster in some things but she excelled in others. Sailor V was active, and fighting Danburite in what spare time she could find.
Another glance, another groan, as Setsuna found what had occurred with the former Makoto Kino.
Tall girls still had some problems in America. Tall tough girls could still be seen as unapproachable. Tall tough girls with good figures who were excellent cooks and could be nice to guys who were at least polite...
Unapproachable?! Heck, she practically had to beat them off with a stick!
Makoto Oakwood was a karate champ, home economics wonder, and staggeringly popular at Kamehameha High School in Hawaii. Being half-Japanese meant that she could pass for native islander when she wanted to, and her grades might not have been incredible but they weren't bad either.
No, Makoto was not the lonely girl she had been. That wasn't to say she wasn't envied or lacked those who would seek to harm her or her reputation. They tended to keep a low profile though, partly because of her admirers and partly because she was rated a third dan black belt equivelant in Jeet Kun Do.
Setsuna saw all this, and saw also that getting Makoto and Mina and Ruka to Tokyo in order to fight evil dark kingdoms was going to be difficult at best.
When she turned her gaze to the next in line, well, that was also worth a wince. It appeared that:
