'This has gone on far too long,' thought Tendo Kasumi, de facto head of the Tendo household, as she surveyed the aftermath of yet another violent attempt by one of Ranma's and Akane's suitors to rid themselves of the competition. 'The two of them are married, the competition is over, and they still persist in ruining our home!'
The wedding had been a complete surprise to everyone except the principals - after a disturbing incident that had had Ranma and Akane each believing they were the other person for over a week, the pair had headed out of town on a training trip to "work things out". The jury was still out on whether they had been intending to elope, or if it had just "happened".
Either way, reactions had been mixed - despite all the pushing and prodding over the last year, all of the parents had been disappointed that they hadn't been consulted. Nabiki was affronted that she hadn't been able to collect any wedding gifts, and the reactions of the suitor squad - meaning the Kunos, Amazons and Kuonjis - were pretty well given.
Kasumi sighed. Why could these people not simply be happy for the two of them?
Anyway, with the lack of any privacy, or even respite in order to regroup their efforts to dissuade the remainder of the crew, it was a wonder that the brand new marriage was holding up as well as it was. The pair would still joke pretty freely about the events that had lead to the elopement - finishing each other's sentences seamlessly and speaking in eerie unison were favorites of theirs, and set them snickering whenever someone reacted. It was also getting pretty hard sometimes to judge exactly who one was speaking to - even if only one of them was present.
All that aside, it was high time to get them the respite they needed, and if they weren't going to get it here, then they'd have to get it elsewhere. If she sent them off to school elsewhere, and convinced Nabiki to tie the Wrecking Crew down as long as possible, they'd have a chance to deal with them piecemeal, hopefully, rather than all at once...
Bringing out her phonebook, Kasumi considered which of her friends she was going to have to call on for this. It all depended on which school...
