Akane thought desperately of a way to get Ranma's mind off of his questions. She latched onto something he said in passing...
Akane scowled. "What do you mean by 'Kodachi acting nicer'?!"
Ranma was not impressed, for once. "Don't look at me like that, Akane. I'm just repeated what you said when we were all checking up on Shampoo."
Akane began to sweat. "Aheh..."

On of the things Nabiki liked about her powers was the ease with which they allowed her to eavesdrop on conversation. Her sisters might frown upon such uses of her powers, but she'd prefer not to be surprised if she could at all help it.
But what she just heard was not something she could ignore. "Kasumi!" she said loudly, dashing toward the kitchen.
Kasumi turned as her sister burst in. "Yes, Nabiki?"
"Ranma's suspicious of us! He's pressing Akane for answers right now!"
Kasumi blinked. "Nabiki. I told you it's not polite to eavesdrop."
Nabiki nearly fell over in shock. "Did you hear what I said, Kasumi? Ranma may be on to us! Akane might cave in! What should we do?!"
Kasumi shrugged. "Hmmm... I guess we'll have to tell him, then. Won't we?"
"Kasumi?!"
Kasumi smiled. "Really, Nabiki, he lives with us. He's engaged to Akane. And he's probably more powerful than any one of us even with our powers. He's going to figure it out sooner or later. Why shouldn't we tell him? He could be a real help, you know."
Nabiki boggled. Somehow, that just never occurred to her...
Kasumi grabbed Nabiki's arm and began leading her to the dojo. After all, they shouldn't force Akane to do this alone...
