Invincible Overlord - Dark: It's A Gas [Episode 152998]

Watching the girl in a t-shirt that barely covered anything when she wasn't jumping around, jumping around and stretching as she watched a 'Jazzersize' program's models do the same, was giving Ranma some uncomfortable stretching sensations of his own.

"DO YOU NEED A NEW CAR?!
WELL, NOW, YES, NOW IS THE TIME!"

Ranma realized the pet was now clutching him from behind as the nice dancing models had been replaced by a particularly obnoxious car commercial.

"PULL IT, PUSH IT, TOW IT! WE GUARANTEE 10000yen TRADE IN!
DON'T LET THESE DEALS PASS YOU BY!"

klik! Ranma hit the mute button, bringing Ami's attention back to the little remote. She made an interrogative trilling noise and began looking at it in more detail.

"Ya wanna see it?" asked Ranma, putting it down where the girl could examine it.

Ami tapped at it with her fingers clumsily.

klik!"Do you suffer from... hemmorhoids?"

"Urrrrrrrrrrrr?" asked Ami, looking from the box with movable shapes to the box with moving shapes.

klik! the box went silent.

"Urrrr," said Ami, this time speculatively.

"What are they doing?" asked one of the winged folk.

"Who cares?" asked one of the Herbal Villagers.

"They've got us surrounded, and it looks like they've brought in some of their more powerful war machines, but they simply wait there," asked the winged folk.

"Maybe they know about the fortifications and traps," said an Amazon.

Cologne's eyes were narrow slits. "I doubt those would hold General Zhang. Odd, I had expected them to send some diplomat to talk about our surrender."

"They did," said Kiima. "We sent his head back to them."

Cologne went dead still for a moment. "Excuse me?"

"I know you wanted to try fleeing," began Kiima.

"If we must fight it would be best to abandon the villages, then use fade-and-strike tactics," said Cologne. "Strike at supply lines, avoid being where they will strike. You killed his messenger?"

"Yes," said Kiima, glancing at the twins from the Herbal Village. "About two hours ago."

Cologne frowned. "Now what would Zhang be plotting? They know that they can't keep us pinned here so this isn't a siege."

"Another observation plane," observed an Amazon, glancing up at the speck.

The pilot nodded as instruments indicated that a thermal inversion level had developed, caused by cold mountain air and warmer air in the valleys with smog from generators nearby.

She signalled, and the gas would be released.

All of the Overlord's Generals had their specialties, though General Zhang was someone who was more comfortable with being in charge of law enforcement and stomping down on smuggling than he was with putting down an uprising in a remote section of China. Still, he studied and completed his Continuing Education (CE) points for his certification as befitted one of the Overlord's Generals. So he well knew of a "failed" project that had definite possibilities.

The gas was odorless, colorless, dispersed well (too well for its original intended use of riot control), and had an effect that lasted long after initial exposure to the chemicals were absorbed through the lining of the nasal passages.

The pilot completed the pass, as the last dozen observation flights had done, at an altitude well in excess of what the fliers among the rebels could accomplish. She knew the gas should start having an effect about - now.
