"Something wrong?" Leia asked.
"I'm trying to find a place to land. It looks like we might have to set down at one of the poles. I hate being cold."
Leia took a look at the scanners as well. "A swamp planet. If you set down in the wrong spot, your ship will sink into the muck."
"I kind of figured. Wait. I see a clear area and it looks like there is nothing nearby. I'm going to open the bay doors and take care of this problem."
Leia asked, "How? That could be quicksand down there."
Lina smiled and headed for the bay. Opening the cargo bay doors, Lina looked down at the clear spot of ground and activated her talismans. She pointed at the clearing and made the chant for a certain spell.
"Blast Bomb!"
The balls of fire exploded against the clearing and wisps of steam trailed upwards. Lina nodded and rapidly cast off another spell several times.
"Vice Freeze! Vice Freeze! Vice Freeze! Vice Freeze!"
Leia shouted, "What are you doing?"
"Preparing a place to land!" Lina called back. "I'm almost done."
Lina reactivated the talismans and enhanced a spell's variation that she had perfected.
"Vu Vrymer!"
The first baked and then frozen ground was altered as the Earth spell hit it. The cracks in it sealed up and tendrils reached out and anchored themselves several meters away from the clearing. Lina nodded and closed the bay door on her ship. She idly hummed a tune, as she walked back to the cockpit.
"We can land there now. I made sure it wasn't muck," Lina said with a smile.
"I never heard of a Jedi doing stuff like this."
"I'm not a Jedi, remember. I'm a sorceress, a user of magic," Lina replied, and waved her hand in an encompassing gesture. "Your universe uses technology to build things like this ship. My world uses magic. We just haven't left our world yet by using magic. Magic, like technology, is a tool. It is good or bad depending upon how it is put to use. Leia, you know some basic spells. You should understand that. From what little I've figured out is that the Jedi and the Sith are priests of their religions. Me? I'm not exactly the most pious of people you will meet."
Leia remained quiet as Lina landed the Golden Dream. The two girls exited the ship. Lina looked up at the sky and shook her head.
"It's going to be dark soon," Lina said. "We'll hunt for Yoda tomorrow."
"The way General Kenobi was acting, we should hurry," Leia said.
"Do you really want to go traipsing around in a swamp at night?" Lina countered. "I don't. I'd rather be able to see then wind up being killed, because I was in too much of a hurry."
"Well,..." Leia began.
Lina held up her right index finger. "Shh. There is something out there."
"I don't see anything," Leia whispered.
"I can feel it. It's quite powerful and pretty close," Lina said.
Lina spun and pointed in a direction. "There."
The two girls saw a small, green-skinned, elf-like being hobble out of the swamp.
"Yoda, I presume?" Lina said, and held up the green data-card. "Obi-Wan Kenobi wants you to see what is on this data-card."
Leia looked from the elf-like creature to Lina. "Um. How do you know that's Yoda?"
"I don't. However, he has a presence that is stronger than Ben's."
"Sense my strength in the Force you did," the elf creature said. "Sense your use of power I did."
"It's getting late. Let's get inside my ship and have dinner. Yoda can use the data-card reader on board to hear Ben's message."
"My name you know," Yoda said. "You names, what are they?"
"Lina Inverse."
"Leia Organa or...," Leia trailed off.
Lina looked at the princess with pity. "She just found out who her natural born father was and that she has a twin brother."
"That information hidden from the twins it was decided."
"I think the revelation has to do with Exar Kun," Lina said.
"A dead Sith lord no bearing on the present has," Yoda stated.
"You had better look at what's on that data-card before making any decisions."
"Sense that you are correct. Reserve judgment until I have that knowledge."
Lina walked away rubbing her forehead.
"Are you all right?" Leia asked.
"Yes. It's just going to be very hard to understand him," Lina replied.
The trio boarded Lina's ship. While the two girls ate, Yoda watched the holo-recording of Obi-Wan Kenobi explaining what had happened, the reasons for his decisions, and the very scant information he had on Lina Inverse.
'Powerful in the ways of magic Lina Inverse is,' Yoda thought. 'The darkness of Exar Kun countered needs be. Trained in the ways of the Force Leia will be. Test Lina I must before teaching can begin.'
