"Sure am," Ranma said with a shrug. "I know what I saw, and that it was pretty amazin'."
"It's not that we don't trust what you're saying...."
"Don't worry 'bout it."
"Oh?"
He waved off their concerns with a wry grin. "Hey, I saw it, and I know how strange it seems. Ya didn't see it, and ta really believe in it, ya have ta see it."
"Perhaps we should go and see it sometime," Kasumi suggested.
"Nuh uh. No way."
"Oh?"
"Ya could probably go ta the area, but I really don't think that it'd be that safe. Just as easy as ya look, ya could fall in. And that doesn't mean that'd be the only danger."
"There is?"
"You know, that would probably be likely," Akane commented. "Where there's one problem, there's probably a whole lot more."
"But what could be the problem?"
"Pops," the pigtailed boy answered.
"What could connect him to trouble in that place?" his younger sister-in-law asked.
"Simple. When we were there, he saw somethin' fall inta the spring of the drowned frog."
"How does a frog drown?"
"Same as anythin' else. They don't have gills, ya know."
"Oh, right. But what's such a bother about that? You already said that you'd seen a transformation."
"Yeah, but it's what happened afterwards that makes me worry. Ya see, he said that when the guide and I turned away, the frog started ta sing and dance. But when we looked, it was just doin' frog stuff. Every time that we'd leave, he'd come over ta us, sayin' that it'd started up a routine again."
The sound that Nabiki made was half choked laughter, half soda going down the wrong way. "Are you serious?"
"Got ta the point where I suggested that he lie down and take a rest."
"What happened after that?"
"He got so frustrated that he refused ta talk 'bout it again."
"Did he now...."
"Yup."
Kasumi gave a small smile that she covered with one hand, though whether it was merely a reassuring gesture, or an expression of amusement wasn't clear. However, the concern in her voice when she spoke was clearly genuine. "Your poor father...."
"Yeah. But he's handlin' it okay. Still, it ain't like it really matters."
"Why not?"
"There's some stuff here that's more important than those springs," Ranma replied, glancing over at his wife.
An uncharacteristically giddy smile spread across Nabiki's features, while:
