Ranma thought about the woman that he loved and married. Her interesting conflict of soft, gentle beauty verses a powerful strength. It made him guilty that he had yet to inform his father that he had married Shampoo. But it had been a hectic four months.
With the curse, cheap travel arrangements and the crazy training, there had been few good points. The one light point had been the meeting of his wife in her homeland. Upon hearing the name of the village that his beloved had grown up in, he had made sure that he would arrive male. His heart lifted from the ache that he had been feeling from being apart from his wife.
'Then Pop screws things up by eating her feast.' Ranma remembered as he frowned at the idea. 'But it did give me a chance to spar with her again. I just love watching the way that she moves. It's so graceful with such control. It just makes me hot watching her.'
'But, of course, it would be disrespectful to her if I didn't use my full skills. So I won. And was rewarded with the sweetest thing I can imagine. The lips of my lovely Shampoo.' Ranma sighed at the pleasure of that memory. 'Then Pop screws up again. Pulls me away and drags me for over a mile. Then he claimed that Shampoo was planning on killing me.' Ranma growled as he looked over at the figure that was sleeping soundly across the fire.
'So here I am trying to figure out how to get back with my wife, while travelling with an idiot. I should just leave and head back to China.' But there was a few things that held him back. The fact that he had to at least tell his father the facts before he left. The fact that he wanted to see his mother once again and tell her the happy news. The shame that he felt that he had a curse and the fear of rejection of his wife due to his new form.
'I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. Plus I am getting this feeling that some kind of trouble is coming up. I have to figure out what it is that I am going to do.'
At the Tendo home...
Nabiki was at work, trying to see if she could fix things using her skills. She was already looking up the address of all of the Saotomes in the neighbourhood. Looking for Ranma's mother. It was a long shot, but if she could get Ranma's mother behind her, she might be able to convince the fathers that the marriage is of value.
She did have a little information that she could use in such a search. She knew Ranma's name and the name of his father, Genma. That might be enough to start a search. Then she had to rely on her skills of persuasion. She could also try to suggest that the arrangement could be pushed back a generation to affect her grandchildren.
But there was still the need for something more that they could. She had gained copies of all of the legal papers to prove that this was a legal marriage. So that the happy couple couldn't be broken up due to the thought that the marriage was a sham. She was also looking in to the histories of her father and Mr. Saotome. Just in case she could find something that might encourage them to drop the engagement.
She also prepared the note for Shampoo and Grandmother Cologne. It would help to have an elder mind as cunning as that old lady on their side. Nabiki picked up the phone and started to call her first choice of who Ranma's mother was.
