Volcano Girls: Family Conversations [Episode 15386]

by Thrythlind

Ranma looked from the flustering Akane to the approach of Kasumi and Nabiki.

"Hello Ranma," Kasumi said. "I believe we have something to discuss."

"Ehh?" Akane said, surprised. "Nabiki?"

"Kasumi says 'tell,'" Nabiki said shrugging. "Do you want to try arguing against her?"

"You're going to tell me what's going on then?" Ranma asked, folding his arms.

"Yes," Kasumi said. "Shall we sit down?"

So saying, Kasumi sat down and produced a tea kettle along with a tea tray. As Ranma watched, Kasumi's hands burst into flames as she held the kettle.

"What the-?" Ranma asked.

"Perhaps we can have some tea as we talk," Kasumi said. "Sit, sit." Akane and Nabiki sat at their older sister's insistance.

"Show off," Nabiki muttered as she took a seat near Kasumi and Akane grumbled as she sat down.

"What's going on?" Ranma demanded.

"A few weeks ago we received a late inheritance from our mother," Kasumi said.

"Yeah," Ranma nodded. "I remember that."

"Well...this is it," Kasumi said. "It seems that our family has something of a tradition of magic."

"You mean that..." Ranma paused and looked around. "YOU three were the magical girls that stopped the attack at the park?"

"Indeed," Kasumi said.

Ranma frowned and took a moment to CLOSELY examine each of the sisters' chi. They had grown stronger since the last time he had looked, and as such the changes were more distinct.

Kasumi was, as obvious by her little trick, fiery in appearance. A flickering image that was initially indistinguishable from a manifested battle-aura, aside from the fact it was more orange and red than blue.

Nabiki's aura was slightly more breezy and harder to pin down. It tended to whirl about her like a soft wind, though Ranma felt that it could hit higher speeds if she were excited or angry.

Akane's aura was more solid and discernible than the other two's. It was dark, and impenetrable, and Ranma could guess that like the earth it resembled, it could erupt into violence.

Also...he knew Akane very well.

None of their auras were anything but human, only the projected images were changing. The surface that was characteristic of a martial artist's (or mage he now guessed) training or elements of a person's personality.

And they were growing stronger as well.

"And why did you guys decide to keep this a secret?" Ranma asked.

"Quite simple, Saotome," Nabiki said. "After seeing what you've brought to Nerima and our home just being you, we decided it would be best if no one knew that the Tendo Dojo held three more superpowered individuals."

"Oh," Ranma said. "I get your drift."
