Setsuna's New Life: Relationship Connections [Episode 154176]

by Kender

As Setsuna watched, what she saw made her eyes go wide.

It turned out that one of the most basic urges that had ever come along had managed to unite the natives and the newcomers in ways that were closer than any other method could manage. That had brought the groups to be so close so as that they were part of each other's families, and homes. By anyone's reckoning, there was simply no way to be closer.

After all, marrying meant that there would be sharing a lot of life. Not only was one bringing another into their heart, but they were bringing along any other baggage that would come with that partner. Should a human marry an alien, they would be dropped into a new culture and society, becoming the easily spotted one among the family, and vice versa. But that sort of leap did not stop the intermarriages from happening.

Part of it was sexual, as not only could each side have attractive members and appear exotic, but there was a bit of a fantasy aspect at work. When a woman's 'tall and dark foreigner' was really foreign, or a man's 'hot babe' was a literal 'wild cat' in bed, there was a clear aspect to be enjoyed. The fact that these prospective mates would not have quite the same ideas about attractiveness as did those of the same gender of the viewer's species did help, but in the end, people chose who they wanted to. It did not change the fact that no matter if there was a difference in concepts of sexual appeal, those who were chosen did at least have some attraction for the other.

In fact, there was even the old 'arranged marriages' still going strong, as there were occasions when humans were set up with alien wives or husbands simply because they were considered to be the best choice. Whether that was due to some relationship between the families, genetic predisposition, monetary concerns, politics, some sort of religious belief, or something else, there was still a lot of family interference in such matters.

But, in the end, there was one overriding factor that reigned over all the others, and that was love. Should a human woman have a relationship with a man with fur and fangs, or a Earth man be with a centuries old woman bonded with a tree, love made any differences mostly meaningless. People were still people, and their emotions simply led a lot of them to be with the ones that they wanted to live their lives with.

Over the years, that had been proven again and again, until it wasn't that strange to see couples of aliens and humans walking around. There were a great many people who had aliens as partners, spouses, or lovers, and in fact, there were aliens who had relationships with aliens from another alien species. Certainly, there were groups on both sides, alien and human alike, who stood apart, and wanted to keep their bloodlines pure of outside influences, but there had already been a lot of intermarriage, and interbreeding. With husbands and wives being different than the humans that they had wed, there was no way that the children could not be half-breeds, but there was also the added bonus of the fact that the powers that were brought into the marriage could be affected in all sorts of ways by this sort of lineage.

As a result, there were all sorts of humans with alien blood, and aliens with human blood, which made for interesting situations. Powers could be different than the parents, body builds might not be the same as the parents, and there might even be new and special opportunities brought into the species from another. The latter came into play as there were now humans who had magic, psychic, and other powers because someone in their family line had been an alien.

That made it so that when she taught her history class, she didn't get any sort of distance or other such problems from her students. In fact, that might have been better, as the boys had taken one look at her in her short skirted suit, the one that showed off her long legs, and hugged her figure, and were duly appreciative in the way that only hormonal young men could be. With her having the whole 'stylish and professional older woman' thing going as well, the boys seemed to like it. At least the girls seemed to merely hold her up as an idol to imitate, which did carry with it some particular difficulties. Then again, it was clear that she wasn't going to have any trouble getting a date....

Setsuna checked again, and found that what she'd seen was right. Not only was she a history teacher, of all things, but she was doing it at a school where a good number of the students were either aliens living on Earth, or half-breeds from interspecies marriages. This, as it was, didn't seem to be what she'd expected, and the fact that she could actually be considering dating seemed to be a bit of a surprise.

As she tried to figure out if she felt good or concerned about that factor, she decided that she should:
