"Man.... Being able to get out of there is just too great," Ranma groaned happily as he stepped out of the classroom.
Akane glanced at her Master as she went to walk beside him. "Is it that hard for you to actually have to pay attention?"
"Some, but think of it. We're stuck there for hours. All that time without being able to move? It's not only dull, but it makes my whole body stiff."
"So, you're saying...."
"That it's really restrictive," he commented with a grin. "Those aren't the most comfortable chairs around."
"I do have to admit that you're right. Though...."
"What? Am I going to get into trouble by walking?"
"Of course not. It's not like you're not going to stop, or anything is going to come...." she said... right before a bucketful of water came flying at the pigtailed boy. "At least, it shouldn't."
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" said a boy who came rushing up to them. "It just slipped from my hands!"
"That's...."
"Not something that should have happened. Yes. I know. But these things happen, I suppose. Still, at least I hadn't put anything into it."
"How great," Ranma-chan muttered, wiping her now scarlet locks from her forehead.
"Exactly. If there'd been some cleaner in there? Whoa, bad day for you. But since there wasn't? Just a little wet."
"That's...."
"Not something that I can do anything about, unfortunately. I can get more water for what I had to do, though. I am so sorry about doing that. But I can't stay. Things to do, you know. Very important," the boy told them, grabbing his bucket, and hurrying away.
"Now, that was weird."
"What? That he was babbling so much?" Akane asked.
Ranma shook her head slightly. "That too. But I don't remember any guys with huge glasses and big red hairdos going to school here."
"You're right about that. For some reason, that hair did remind me of a wig that the drama club has. It was for the time that they did kabuki, or something like that. Oh, well, I suppose that you're going to have to go."
"You suppose right. I'm not going to class as a girl."
"It's not like everyone doesn't know about your curse already," her servitor pointed out.
"Yeah, but I'd sure find it uncomfortable."
"Then you're heading to get some hot water?"
"I am," the pigtailed girl confirmed. "You go to class. I'll meet you there."
"You sure?"
"I'm sure. Don't worry. What could happen here?"
Akane gave the cursed boy a flat look.
"Okay, I know. This isn't exactly a calm and peaceful place. But this shouldn't be a problem."
"Well, I see you there then."
"See you," Ranma replied, and walked off to do what she had to as Akane headed for the art class.
Hikaru Gosunkugi smiled to himself as he heard the steps of a single person sounding in the hallway. From his position in the stairwell, he could tell that there was no one else coming, and that meant that his plan was working so far. All it had taken was a school bucket, a wig from the drama club, and fake glasses, and he'd managed to finally succeed in setting things up the way that he'd wanted them to be.
Akane Tendo was alone, and heading straight for him.
Now, with Ranma off getting dry, Hikaru could surprise Akane, use his newfound item on her, and get a quick test run. He wouldn't be able to really get to enjoy the full amount of it all, but he would be able to make sure that the item did its work on her. If it did, then he'd be seeing a major difference in her attitude towards him, and he'd finally have a chance to have her in his arms. Sure, he'd have to send her off to go to class, so as to not arouse suspicion, but he would have her come to be with him later. Then he'd be able to enjoy the fruits of his success fully.
Even though he'd managed to get there in plenty of time to get over any exertion, he was breathing hard. The anticipation was killing him, and he wanted to get to it already. But he made himself wait until the person he was waiting for was in the right place.
When that moment came, he leapt out, and:
