They never considered the idea that there might be other dangers around as well.
Had they known that in one timeline, evil creatures that were usually feminine shaped would come to steal away either energy, or oddly pretty baubles that had a great deal to do with their very souls, they would have likely laughed it off. After all, such things only came about in stories, and the very idea that monsters like those would be real just didn't seem sane. Oddly enough, for some, the existence of the gynoids helped them deny this, to themselves at least, by giving them a reason why those sorts of things would not happen. Their reasoning was that if the science of the machines had come about in the way that it had, then having another fantastic developments didn't seem to be so likely.
But they didn't know that the girls who were the 'models' for nine of the series were Senshi, in another timeline at least. As a result, they weren't around to be available to fight the enemy as they had been. That meant that any opponents would not have the same sort of blockages to their plans. Because of that, one could almost be certain that they would take advantage of such a situation if they could.
