"It's my fiance," said Ami finally.
"Fiance?!" Their reaction to this was even louder though they quieted on seeing Ami holding her head and dryheaving some more at the increase in volume.
"I didn't know you had a fiance, Ami," interjected Luna.
Ami explained in a quiet voice as the pounding in her head slowly subsided and she raised her head to see her friends staring at her in confusion and concern. On seeing her crying, the group got even quieter.
She explained that her mother had made the arrangement when she was a child and she hadn't been told of it yet. She then began explaining that her fiance had made a wish that his fiancees understood him and that she'd just watched his life until now unfolding before her eyes.
She shuddered and couldn't look at the two mooncats, having a distant echo of Ranma's own ailurophobia and not wanting to see if sharing his experiences could throw her into the Nekoken.
While there was dismay at the news that their friend's fiance had been pulled from his home at an early age, it was what came after in Ami's anguished voice that caused the Senshi to react.
On being told of the various "training exercises" to steal food or supplies, there was some indignation. On being told of the Nekoken training, indignation turned to horror. After the fourth time Genma sold his son and stole him back, it became horror and disgust. After the various baitings, beatings, manipulations, injuries, and humiliations, the Senshi were beginning to look a little shellshocked.
Jusenkyo. Shampoo trying to kill him, then marry him. Akane. The insistence on honor and the marriage from the two parents.
"Emotional retardation, brain damage, an uncertain gender identity now because of lack of experience with the opposite sex while having that curse," Ami began adding it up.
"Please say his father's a yoma and we can go dust his ass," said Minako pleasantly.
"Maybe Usagi can heal him with a Moon Escalation," suggested Luna.
Elsewhere, someone who had not previously been engaged to Ranma had just been added by Mihoshi getting a little detail wrong. Of course, once added, this individual knew with absolute certainty that they had always been engaged to Ranma but had forgotten about it.
