Shadows: One World, Three Planes [Episode 154923]

Our world has three planes on which beings both good and evil live. Humans and few others, who disguise themselves as human, live in the Light of our world, where humans are completely unaware of the other planes. In the Dark of our world live most fantastical beings, from dragons to demons to goblins and fairy folk. In the Shadows, which exist between the Light and the Dark of our world, all beings live though the anthropomorphic shape shifting people are most common. Among them are the butterflies, well known for their chaos based magic and kind rulers, and the bats, thought to have similar origins to vampires of legend, and known to have unmatchable stealth (you don’t find them, they find you).

Of these three, only those born in the Shadows may safely enter both the Light and the Dark, while those of the Light or the Dark may only enter the Shadows safely. Those born in the Light can never enter the Dark, just as those born in the Dark can never enter the Light.

Those in the Shadows now live in fear of a usurper, calling herself Queen of the Butterflies, who rules with fear and gargoyle servants born in the Dark. She seeks the last true member of the royal family, and absolute rule. Her search begins with...

• Four people, consisting of two couples, sit eating in a relatively classy restaurant, found in the Light of our world.
• Twins, one male, the other female, born in the Shadows of our world, of a clan with the wings of a fruit bat, though these wings remain unseen unless called upon by their owner.
• One, who is the last of his people, to his best knowledge, and prime guardian to a relic born of the Light, the Shadows, and the Dark of our world, he lives in the Light almost unaware of the Shadows, yet will soon discover just how much they hide.
• One, born among the Shadows, royal but exiled from her people by a usurper to the throne, she does not look forward to the day she must face off against the usurper as she is the true Princess of the Butterflies.
• One, living in the Shadows, whose past remains clouded, whose future may be the key to everything, and whose memories begin in the Dark.
• Something Else...
