Minako frowned at the holographic image. "Not that I don't think that you should take your time, if you need it, but why not just jump in with both legs?"
"There are issues to be considered."
"But it will happen anyway, and this would get it over and done with if you don't like it that much."
"This isn't just something that you simply decide to do on the spur of the moment," the Senshi of Time responded pointedly. "Doing so would be irresponsible."
"That is true enough. Any change of this level would be a major issue," Ami admitted.
"And wouldn't be one that I'd want to simply treat as just something done on a whim."
"Exactly. You do have a choice, and it will affect the rest of your life."
"Oh, right.... I didn't mean to sound like I was making rejoining us would be airy," the blonde RoboGirl agreed with a wince.
"Unfortunately, there are important reasons for me to not rush into joining this timeline," Setsuna told her.
"Like what? Can't you just go back when you've come here?"
"Yes, I can. But there are things that I can do now that I wouldn't be able to do if I were to let myself simply walk into this timeline. Right now, my thought processes are as they were before all this happened, and I can look at things using that. After all, once I step into through the Gate, part of my purpose would be to support and make young Mister Saotome happy, but that might push me away from letting him go through experiences that might be trouble now, yet could do him great in the long run."
"Sort of like when a child burns his hand on a pot, and then knows enough to keep himself away from moments when he could be seriously hurt," Michiru suggested.
"Precisely. Though I might have no choice but to join you, I won't do it without maximizing what I can do before then."
"We already know what we can look for...."
"Not exactly."
"Hmm?"
"Think of just Kujaku and Von Ecchi. They might continue the 'robot girl' angle. However, they might decide that they'll try to cross girls with animals to get 'girl pets', or they might want to just make girls into 'sex slaves'. That doesn't include any enemies that we might already have, or any sort of new ones. And I have to make sure that things aren't going to be screwed up in a whole new way."
A frown crossed Cutey Honey's lips. "We can just go with the timeline that you knew as closely as we are able to, right? What would be the problem?"
"Every event changes the future, no matter what happens. It might be only a little thing, but we can do a small action, and cause big results."
"If 'one small thing' can do a lot, then why couldn't you save more than one city in that future?" Nabiki commented.
"Power."
"Pardon me?"
"It's really simple. It took Sailor Moon a thousand years to gather up the power to do what she did in that future. She could focus it enough to be certain to save some people, or she could try to force it wider, and wind up stretching herself too thin to save anyone."
"Which would not be what is wanted."
"That's my point. Though.... If we get enough advancement with this, perhaps we'd be able to spread the power out to a greater distance, saving more people in the process. Should that be the case, then I'd have to say that a great benefit would come from all of this. Maybe I would have less of a reason to stay outside of it, if it comes to that."
Nuku Nuku's expression brightened. "Then you'll come to play with us?"
"I may."
"Don't you want to? You know, there's a lot of fun to be had."
Setsuna gave Nuku Nuku a measuring look, and considered what 'fun' the suggestion would bring. Fortunately, giving up her identity as a 'free woman' wouldn't bring the sort of 'demeaned toy' position that she might have faced, as this boy was someone who'd let her have the freedom to basically be the same person that she had been. However, she'd have the innate desire to serve him, and would likely want to share his bed. Not that he was a bad candidate for coupling with, as he did have a very toned body and a handsome face, both of which a woman would love to have laying next to her, especially when she hadn't been getting a whole lot of relief in the first place.
"I know that, but I don't want to simply rush into anything on the off chance that I'll get to have passionate sex with a young hunk," Setsuna grumbled.
Ranma's face turned bright red at her words, and the RoboGirls who knew Setsuna the best gave each other knowing looks at the almost wistful undertone in her voice, while:
