To the Weasley twins, Harry had been sort of an enigma, moving into and out of their lives. They had seen how he was mistreated at home, and at school. They had seen how he had saved their little sister, and a few days ago he had given them enough money to make their dreams a reality.
Knowing what they did of how he was treated back home, they decided they needed to investigate what they could and couldn't do for him.
Their younger brother was still feeling guilty for having doubted Harry the year before, so they first leaned on him for help. He agreed
Also Ginny was willing to help where she could. Between them they formed a four person cell dedicated to the protection of Harry Potter from his relatives.
The first thing they did was start a persistent annoyance campaign to drag out every reason Harry had to stay with his relatives. It soon became apparent Harry had to live with his Aunt at that house.
Harry's cousin and Uncle were surplus to requirements.
And while they were forbidden by law to cast spells with their wands over the summer, there were no restrictions on potions, prank items, and other store-bought items. Plus, they had a thousand Galleons spending cash if they needed it.
It was Ron who reminded them about the way Dobby attacked Malfoy after being freed. Someone allowed to cast magic spells over the summer would be quite useful. Ginny reminded them how much trouble they would be getting Harry in if they didn't treat Dobby in a manner Hermione would approve.
They sent Dobby a letter offering him a chance to work for their corporation, with the possibility of his boss becoming Harry Potter, and waited for his reply.
Saturday morning at 1:00 am the four Weasleys and a house elf took the Knights bus to a location a few blocks from Harry's house. Dobby unlocked the doors from the inside, and allowed the others to follow.
Armed with a modified form of their "Canary Creams" the Dursleys were captured and placed in a cage. Then they went to look in on Harry, and assess the level of willful neglect he would be suffering under.
Unfortunately they hadn't the time needed to brew polyjuice potions, but they'd already planned to do that for the future. Fred or even Harry could play Vernon for small periods of time.
But for now, it would be over 48 hours before anyone missed Vernon. It would be a few hours before the Weasleys would be missed, and they left nothing to indicate that they were going to 4 Privet Drive. And all of the detectors would show Harry safely home with his relatives.
