From a point about a foot above the actual structure, a melodious female voice responded, "Yes, Lady Pluto? Are you beginning another one of your reprehensible 'chaos hunts' again?"
Pluto rubbed her forehead with one of her beautifully manicured hands. "Cut the chiding, Gate. Find me the analogue of one 'Ranma Saotome' in the current timeline, please."
In the image surrounded by the massive door-frame a smaller frame appeared. Over the course of three seconds, it seemed to flicker through countless variations of our favorite pigtailed hero, some huge and buff, a few that would make Hikaru Gosunkugi look massive, not a few young women and even once showing an almost 'Borg' like variation.
The frame disappeared, as the Gate responded, in a voice that almost seemed to be giggling. "Found, Lady Pluto. Do you wish to view?"
Raising a single eyebrow at the reaction the piece of techno-magical equipment was having, she replied. "Very well, Gate."
The image blurred, then cleared to display a Gate-filling image of a covered baby in a darkened room. "Here is the person you're looking for, Lady Pluto," the sentient Artifact sang out, almost gleefully, then actually giggled. "He's a cutie-pie, isn't he?"
Pluto smirked. "As cute as he is, Gate, he's a problem."
The Gate actually laughed back at her! "He's pro-tect-ed, Plu-to!" the female device carolled. "By Imperial Edict, no less!"
The emerald maned Senshi paused. "Imperial Edict?" she gasped. "That's impossible!"
If the immovable device could have, it would have been rolling on the floor. Since it couldn't, it just laughed uproariously. After a moment, the laughter tapered off. "As per Serenity III, I am unable to allow tampering with this entity, Lady Pluto. Lock-out has been set."
If any of the numerous groups of Inner Senshi had seen this particular variation of Setsuna Meiou, they would have been requesting videos. She fell to her knees in front of the Gates and began to scream as she beat the marble flooring, having her first tantrum in 10,248 years.
Hours later, the image of the baby began to lighten. Sailor Pluto had long since finished her tantrum and had pulled her favorite chair up to the Gate's interface. She perked at the change, as a shadow began to cover the infant's body. "Gate," she stated with a sigh, as gigantic arms lifted the newborn to their chest to allow the child to feed. "Expand view, to include second person."
With a snicker, the Gate complied. There, centered in the Artifact's viewing area, was a slightly disheveled Setsuna Meiou, staring straight back at her counterpart. "My son is so dangerous that you've been watching him all night, Pluto?" she asked archly. Quite a feat, what with her having said son suckling at her breast.
Sailor Pluto screamed. Whether in terror, aggravation or agony of lost bachelorettehood, one doesn't know; however, it was quite impressive.
