Coupled Union - Tick Tock: Garbagemx36 [Episode 159208]

by Kwakerjak

Ranma Meioh looked rather irritated as she skulked through the foyer of the home she shared with her wife and roommates (one of which was her surrogate daughter). She was dripping wet, which meant that, likely as not, she had been male a few minutes ago—which would explain her irritation. “Is there some sort of motion sensor on the front lawn that turns on the sprinkler system on whenever I try to cross it?” This question was directed to her wife, Setsuna, whose name just so happened to be the one on the deed to the home.

“None that I know of,” came the semi-serious reply. “Rough day?”

“Not really… it’s just kinda boring sittin’ around all day with nuthin’ ta do. I mean, I can only get so far in the Art without a decent sensei—and that’s probably the one thing Pops has goin’ for him. Akane said she was gonna tell our fathers about our plan soon…”

“The one that doesn’t involve us getting a divorce?”

“It ain’t like we’d offer those two one that did. Anyway, until that’s taken care of, I can’t really spend a lot of time trainin’. And since you guys were off doin’ yer own thing, it wasn’t as though there was anyone around ta talk to—by the way, what exactly was that meetin’ about?”

Setsuna paused. Despite the fact that the Princess had given her permission to tell Ranma their secret, she had yet to even come close to doing so. It wasn’t that she thought her husband would reject her—after the incident in Nerima, it was pretty clear that Ranma approved of the Senshi. It might have been understandable if it was to prevent her husband from attempting to directly aid the Senshi—and anyone who spent five minutes around him could tell that that was precisely what he would do when he found out—except she already had a plan to put him in a position where he could be effective against the type of enemy they faced. So actually, when looked at from that point of view, her silence was depriving the Senshi of a loyal ally (and Ranma’s loyalty was so great it was almost a fault—witness the modicum of respect he still somehow managed to give to his father). And of course, she didn’t want her husband to discover this by accident—that would just lead to problems in their relationship. That’s it. I have to tell him now.

But Ranma had apparently taken her wife’s long silence as a sign that she wasn’t going to answer, and had moved on with the conversation. “…so anyway, when I finally got back, the damn sprinkler system decided that I needed a pair of boobs again, and that usually puts me in a great mood,” Ranma ended sarcastically.

“Uh, Ranma about the meeting…”

“Look, ya don’t hafta talk about if ya don’t want ta. Heck, I probably wouldn’t even find it interestin’. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta take a hot shower.” Ranma headed towards the bathroom grumbling about her cursed form—which reminded Setsuna of the other secret she had yet to tell her husband: that she was bisexual. While the long-term implications of keeping this secret weren’t nearly as serious as with the information about the Senshi, Setsuna did suspect that Ranma would experience less self-loathing if he knew that his wife was attracted to his female form—very attracted, in fact. But she had yet to think of a way to approach the subject without insulting his masculinity, which she knew perfectly well was an integral part of his identity, thanks to his father and that infernal contract. She’d only seen brief glimpses of it in the Time Gate, but she was pretty sure she caught all of the pertinent bits of information: seppuku, “man among men,” and Genma’s signature and what she assumed was Ranma’s handprint at the bottom. The thing had obviously been drafted in Nerima, because she couldn’t seem to find anything about its context; and Nabiki couldn’t look around without more information—

Wait a second—Genma’s staying at the Tendo home. Nabiki can just get his copy of the contract; that should give her enough information to start looking around! She made up her mind to contact Nabiki as soon as she could—which would be relatively soon, assuming Hypercorp hadn’t been lying about the press conference where they said they would be reducing the amount of telemarketing they did. Her mind immediately took off in that direction, the revelations she had to make to her husband momentarily forgotten.
