Kujaku didn't want to let that happen again.
However, that didn't mean that they weren't going to have to face off against those forces again. If only for their own self respect, he and Von Ecchi would have to defeat them, and that didn't bring in the fact that they were going to have to deal with them sooner or later. They weren't stupid though, and that meant that they were going to have to do something about it.
What they needed was a test subject for the first mission of the first two minions. Sending them straight after someone like a Senshi would be an automatic declaration of the fact that there was an enemy out to get at least that individual. Then that person and her allies would know that something was up. But if they went after someone who could be considered innocent, then it could be brushed off as merely being a monster attack. Those who were in charge of keeping track of such things would never know that there was something going on outside of a mere meaningless assault.
And if it should bring in an unaware Senshi or some other hero type, then it would be so much the better.
It took some time to come up with a proper target. An individual with some sort of connection to a Senshi was prefered, but they didn't want to seem to be rushing to attack certain sorts, like family. They needed someone close enough to have an impact with those they would be really aiming for, without giving them too much of a reason to wonder about the choice of target. Working through some 'unofficially borrowed' police incident reports, they found just the person they would need.
Naru Osaka shivered slightly in mid step, and wondered why it had happened almost as soon as she did it.
"Are you okay?" Umino Gurio asked her, his brows up as he looked at her in concern.
"Yeah, I am...." she answered. "I just felt...."
"Cold?"
"No. More like something had just crawled over my grave...."
"That doesn't sound too good. But it's only a feeeling...."
"I know, but it was almost as if I could sense something terrible coming. Silly though, isn't it?"
"You're right about that. Well, it could be worse."
"Trust me, I know that it can be," Naru commented with a sigh, while:
