"I must say that this does have a certain...satisfaction to it," Infinity noted.
"It certainly does, sugar," Miss Amazing noted, she had chosen to keep that particular appelation since she seemed to think it was rather feminine to use. The rest of her speech, however..."Oh...isn't it wonderful? This is just perfect."...was just embarrassing. If Kasumi Tendo heard Ukyou speaking, Konatsu would fear the elder girl would suspect that Ukyou was mocking her. Especially with the very revealing (not in terms of skin shown, but in terms of might-as-well show skin), un-Kasumi-ish, outfit she was wearing.
"Yes, Miss Amazing," Infinity said, somewhat wearily. "Sigh, I can't wait for a nice long soak in the public baths...."
There was a loud crashing sound that brought their attention to...something crawling across the roof tops on four mechanical legs.
"Oh dear," Miss Amazing said. "What is..." then she caught a sight of the face, or mask rather. "Hayato Myojin?!"
"Who is that?" Infinity asked.
"Long story," Miss Amazing said, in her excitement slipping back into normal speech patterns. "He's going to be heading for my restaurant...come on."
Both heros rushed forward, and found catching up to the mad takoyaki dealer was rather more difficult than it had seemed at first.
"Excuse me, sir!" Miss Amazing called out, punctuating the call with a pair of telekinetically boosted kunai's. Next to her, Infinity tossed his own pair of kunai's.
Tako, turned about and just barely managed to dodge or deflect the weapons. He frowned under his mask and turned to face this new threat.
"Who are you to just attack someone out of the blue?" he demanded, wondering if he could bluff his way past the fight.
"Oh dear," Miss Amazing said. "But I wouldn't do it if you weren't leaving a swath of destruction in your wake." She pointed down Tako's path where he had, in his still relatively novice use of these tools, had damaged, even destroyed several buildings.
"Maybe they should make buildings out of stronger stuff," he shrugged. "And perhaps they should teach little girls not to get involved in the affairs of their betters!"
The Tako surged forward to get his tentacles in range to grapple with both the supposed "little girls."
"Little girl?" Miss Amazing growled, irritably, before getting a hold of her temple and sending a telekinetic shove to send the Tako into a stumbling fall. It worked...only partially...as the Tako quickly recovered himself.
"None can stop my vengeance," The Tako declared.
"Who talks of vengeance?" a new voice declared as the night sky was suddenly a light in fields of fire.
"Miss Amazing!" Infinity shouted. "Get down!" He shoved Miss Amazing out of the way while rolling away from the fire himself, more to save the costume than anything.
The Tako meanwhile shielded himself with his tentacles, and then all three combatants turned to see the new-comer.
He was a man who seemed to literaly breathe out fire and leak it from his very pores.
"Vengeance is mine!" Onryu declared loudly, again unleashing a wave of fire. And the combat was joined.
Infinity dodged and weaved in the battle, striking where he could and always watching Miss Amazing's back as she leaped about, raising telekinetic shields before the fires or else parry attacking tentacles.
Tako and Onryu merely struck out against all the others, each taking opportunities as they saw them.
There was something familiar about the flaming demonic man, however, that Miss Amazing had to be certain of.
And so she reached out toward Onryu's mind, unprepared for what she would find.
Grief. Rage. Hate. That Onryu was filled with darker emotions and an urge to destroy that was entirely alien to most humans. Miss Amazing quickly shut down the link, but not before the sensation sent waves of pain and madness through her.
The novice heroine gripped her head, shrieking in pain and fear, as she nearly faltered to the floor.
"Mistress!?" Infinity gasped, slipping in his shock as he once again had to pull Miss Amazing out of a dangerous situation, Tako's tentacle descending to crush her.
In the same brief brush, Onryu had seen a glimpse of Miss Amazing's mind, and gruffly he ceased his attacks on her. She was not something evil and to be destroyed...at least, not right now.
"The girls shall be spared," but you, creature, shall die."
"I hardly think that likely, demon," the Tako roared laughing, and as he laughed the battle continued. They fought off into the night as Miss Amazing was recovering herself.
"Com...Oh dear," Miss Amazing said. "They...they're escaping."
"Miss Amazing," Infinity said softly. "Are you all right?"
"Come on, Infinity," she answered. "That fire guy is a REAL demon, we have to stop them both!"
"Hold it!" a voice declared, and they turned to find themselves looking at a police-officer. Miss Amazing sighed and prepared to either talk or escape.
