Nabiki raised a brow at him. "What is not to understand, given the current situation?"
"Ranma, you aren't mad at your Mom for looking for a little happiness, are you?" Akane asked him.
"What?! No!" her fiance barked. "How can ya think that?!"
"Because you seem to get more and more down the more that she does to dress up."
"She can dress up all that she wants and more."
"Then what's the problem?"
"It's just that...."
"Look everyone," Kasumi unintentionally interrupted. "Doesn't she look nice?"
Those in the family room turned their heads and looked to where Nodoka Saotome was coming into the room. Yet, this was not quite the same woman that they knew, as her kimono was much more elaborate, and her face was done up with light makeup that highlighted her still young appearance.
Her son felt like he swallowed his tongue, even if he was still able to speak. "Wow...."
"Do you really like it?" Nodoka asked with a hesitant smile.
"Ya look... great, Mom."
"Why thank you, Ranma."
"Only tellin' the truth. Really only tellin' the truth."
"Looks like you won't have to worry about finding a man who'll be attracted to you, Auntie," Nabiki murmured. "They'll be lining up with their tongues hanging out."
"I don't think that I'm ready for that, dear," the redheaded woman told her.
"Me neither," Ranma muttered.
"Ah HA!" the middle Tendo daughter declared.
"What?"
"You have a problem with guys wanting your mother?"
"Yeah, well...."
"Hmmm?"
"She's my MOM! I can't think of her like... doin'.... Trust me, I don't wanna consider that type of stuff, ever," the pigtailed boy said with a shiver.
His fiancee nodded resolutely. "Now, that is understandable."
"True, but now that his Mom isn't married any more, she's free to find someone to be with on her own," Nabiki reminded them.
"We know that. But this could be creepy to him."
"Oh, I understand that. but remember, not all of it is... intimate. Guys can be fairly... respectable, especially if you find the right ones."
"I just don't want to think of any guy comin' after my Mom, and thinkin'.... ya know...."
Nodoka leaned over and patted her son's shoulder. "If this distresses you too much, then perhaps I can wait until another time."
"No! Ya deserve ta enjoy yourself! It's just that.... Well, I don't need ta know any details, ya know."
"Don't worry, dear. I wasn't planning on doing that."
"Thanks for that."
The women all giggled at his words, and he looked rather put out about it, while:
