Motherly Affections: It’s Magic! [Episode 161351]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Still... Dating so soon, and thinking of what could result from dating didn’t settle well with Ranma. Yet he had to admit, is mother seemed pretty lively and happy when around Theodore Diggers.

Yeah, it had really surprised Ranma that his mother, the most traditional ethnocentric Japanese person he knew in all existence, would date a foreigner. But she and the doctor had hit it off rather well when they’d met last month.

It had been pure chance when they’d met each other. He had been in Japan on a business venture with a guy who could have possibly doubled as Happosai, if not because of looks, than in personality. They had been checking out some Shrine, (Hikawa, Ranma was sure was the name) for some reason or other that his mother didn’t tell him. His mother, of course, had been there giving prayer for the dearly-departed soul of her late husband.

When the two met, from what Ranma understood from his mother’s recollection of events, it had sparked something in her... Especially after he tripped and landed on his back, head between her legs. As Nodoka said, he was obviously a ‘very manly man’.

Of course, if it wasn’t for the fact his mother said she was confused why he apologized, Ranma would’ve gone out to search for the bum and rip him a new asshole. But, he had to digress. It seemed like an innocent enough accident.

From there, from what the pigtailed man understood, his mother was the one to initiate things a step further, talking with him over a small lunch. From there, she leaned he was a doctor from the United States who’d lost his wife years prior in a bad accident. What happened, he’d hadn’t gone into detail, but as it stood he was a man who’d been left to take care of two kids by himself, and his job to support his family was taking more of his time and taking him away form his daughters than he’d prefer.

Although his mother never told him how she felt about this other man having children of his own, Ranma thought it must have seemed as an added bonus to his mom. These were supposed to be two little girls. It would give his mother a chance to interact with young kids and NOT have it seem strange. She’d be making up for lost time as it were.

“And now she’d somehow talked the guy into a date,” Ranma thought nervously. It seemed odd to him. It really did. Ah well... If it made his mom happy, who was he to judge?
