"What?" asked Sailor Moon.
"I'm getting an energy spike," declared Sailor Mercury, whose eyes then widened and she spun to look at Sailor Pluto.
"No," said Sailor Mars.
Black vapors seemed to be streaming off of Sailor Pluto's form, except that they didn't act too vaporous. More like serpents writhing through the mists.
"Neptune," called out Uranus insistantly, noticing that Neptune's eyes were staring at something and her mouth was moving in an unfamiliar pattern.
Sailor Moon noticed something else. Neither Neptune nor Mars were looking at Pluto or the vapors. Their expressions were the same too - whatever they saw had put an expression of horror on their faces.
Sailor Neptune began chanting something in an unfamiliar language.
"Latin?" asked Sailor Mercury, recognizing it.
"Energy spike passing Beryl level, passing Pharoah 90 level," said Mercury, sounding a bit alarmed.
The black serpents of shadow spiraled into a central point, which seemed to be developing a humanoid form.
"Passing Galaxia level?!" exclaimed Mercury, sounding very much alarmed. "It's..."
"Neptune?" said Uranus, shaking her lover.
Mars' voice joined Neptune's in the chant of some Latin phrases.
The light and warmth faded from the area, even the mists drifting down to near nothing.
"I think I can see something," said Mercury, continuing to scan. "Yes, it's -"
BLAM!
Something shattered the Mercury Computer, briefly forming a fireball that threw Sailor Mercury entirely out of the area.
"MERCURY!" reacted most of the remaining Senshi.
Burning bits of visor marked Mercury's flight path.
"VENUS LOVE ME CHAIN!" tried Venus, sending a chain into the column of blackness.
The chain hit something, but then the links leading back to Venus began to turn black. Before that could reach her, she released the attack.
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!" tried Jupiter. The attack swirled out, and the blackness moved slightly.
Another fireball, and a smouldering Jupiter went out of the mists at a different point than Mercury had done.
"Mercury! Jupiter!" said Moon.
The chanting reached a climax, and what sounded like a name.
