1632 & Then Some: This is why you work with people, Setsuna. [Episode 162659]

by MageOhki

As she watched the various people come to Grantville, Pluto realized she had to make a decision. Losing Seras and Robin would be bad for her plans, but not a total disaster. Losing the Norns to this timeline would be a disaster, but not total. Losing the Senshi besides herself? Well. She did not have words to describe this. She _had to rescue the Senshi. And hope she could move to at least retrieve the Norns. Maybe, just maybe she could recover Seras or Robin.

As she stepped though the gates, and detransformed, thanking the powers that she did not need to be in Senshi form to teleport to and from the gates, she felt a hand grasp her.

"I don't think so, Setsuna-chan. Not this time." A sultry voice whispered in her ear.

Setsuna froze. She knew that voice. The Norns were stopping her.

"But..."

"All-father found your plans, while the best you likely could do given your preferred methods, ill done. Setsuna-chan, you of all people should be able to learn from the past. No one person can do it alone. It's always better to work with others." Urd watched as the ripple began, and released Setsuna.

Before the vertigo consumed her, she gave one last, despairing look Urd's way. Of all the people... to do this to her... her own... her own...

Urd sighed as she looked down at too-familiar features.

"Don't worry, Set-chan. I swore I'd never leave you, that I'd always be there for you when you needed me. And right now..." She sighed as electricity arced across a time-scarred sky. "Right now, more than ever... I'll be here for you."
