Ranma saw the letter from the hospital laying on the ground.
It really shocked them... there had been a mix-up when they were only a few months old...

• They were TWINS, born to the Saotome clan.
• ... but to the Hibiki clan.
• They were triplets, with their sister living in Jubaan and suffering from an age reducing accident. (Tomoe Hotaru)
• They are siblings in another way.
