Hotaru was near beside herself as the sniffing and snuffling came closer to the trap. She'd finally catch herself a friend!
SLURRRP! CLANG! "YIPE!"
She hesitated. Friends were one thing, but she was fairly certain that a pet would be right out. Why, she couldn't figure; Usagi and Minako could bring over the Moon Cats, Rei's ravens were welcome as well. "One Rottweiler and everybody panics...." she muttered, as she came out of hiding.
"Hello, miss magical girl? Is this your trap? I must say, using the welder to etch wards into the iron itself... inspired!"
The Senshi of Destruction paused. There, sitting beside both of the now-empty bowls, was a small furry form, tucked into a comfortable ball. But nowhere, she noted, was there anyone who could speak. Unless....
She blinked, then focused closely at the fur-ball. She was greeted by a row of pointy teeth, that mimicked a human-like grin. "Wow, that potion in the bowl of ramen is pretty potent! I know that I've been given it, but I can't help feeling so happy to see you!"
She hesitantly approached the cage and it's smiling occupant. As much as she had experience in dealing with talking pets, this was one that was 'in the wild', so to speak. She was fairly certain that this might be messy if she handled it wrong. So, she got within arm's reach and asked, "What are you, minna?"
Her enamored guest uncurled itself and replied,
