As Kasumi bit Ash's lip, then sucked a bit of his blood from the injury, others were making their own choices.
Ataru had gotten a Vamp, whom he named Ran. After slaking her thirst, she looked even more human and somewhat cute - though that was just a disguise. Ataru merely took some vitamins and a protein drink so that he could replace his blood loss.
Gary, who had bullied and pushed around Ash for years, had gotten a Kuda-gitsune. The bluish foxgirl with the magic flute seemed a little subdued and not entirely pleased with the one who had chosen her. He wasn't mentioning that after the Vamp had thrown him around, the foxgirl had checked up on him and he'd stolen her flute when she'd gotten close. He'd sworn her to secrecy, knowing how important the musical instrument was to a Kuda-gitsune - it containing their life force.
There was a Harionago, a Kappa, a Nekomata, a Houkou, an Oni, a Yurei, and a Witch among the pokegirls assembled next to their new partners.
"Professor? Where's Ash, anyway?" asked the single human girl present.
"He's a bit late," said the Professor. "Let's leave it at that."
"I knew he couldn't handle a succubus," scoffed Gary.
"Well, that's one way of looking at it, I suppose," admitted the Professor.
"He's not - is he?" asked the girl, managing to look shocked.
"Well, she is a succubus," said the Professor.
"I wanted one," whimpered Ataru, looking like he wanted to cry.
"Death," whispered the Gaki, looking over the community from the shadows of the sewage system. It had taken her months to find a way into the network of storm drains and sewers, but now their was a reward for her diligence. All sorts of tasty human flesh just waiting for her. With this sort of feeding, she could become a fullblood!
All she had to do was find a way past the final set of barriers now.
Ash slid out from under his pokegirl and plastered himself against the wall. "Uhm, can we talk this over? Can't we be friends?"
Kasumi purred as she advanced.
"Ah, listen, maybe we could..." tried Ash, "Hold off on this stuff until I've had a chance to read up! Don't wanna make any mistakes early on, ya know!"
Kasumi stopped and seemed to consider that.
