As he was still checking out Akane's aura for whatever had been done to her, everyone listening was getting really concerned.
"Anthy, Utena?" said Ranma, still concentrating on Akane with his eyes closed. "I've got a mission for you. This Kuno boy who used the magatama, check into his background, will ya? There's got to be something seriously wrong with him."
Kuno sniffled, holding back a sneeze, as he crept through the night.
Something had to have been wrong with the magatama he'd had earlier and used on his fierce tigress. Nothing else would explain how he, chosen of the heavens and Akane's true love, could have been so savagely attacked.
Well, he'd gotten more than one of these little devices, and could try again. He'd modified this one in the instructions, as perhaps the wording had been misunderstood by the previous device.
Though perhaps he ought to choose a different target and test it. Yes, just so that things would work better when he was ready to retry on Akane.
Still, who would make a good subject for the experiment?
"His name is Tatewaki Kuno," supplied Nabiki. "I doubt you can do much. His family ranks fairly high in terms of nobility and they've a fair amount of money."
"You'd be surprised," said Anthy, delicately excusing herself with a bow and following in Utena's wake.
"Okay," said Ranma, finally letting go and opening his eyes. "You know the transformation is for Akane here to be a sexpet, tigress type, with a generally human form and... the other obvious physical changes."
"You mean these," said Akane, briefly hefting the huge breasts she'd gotten in the change.
"Well, that too," said Ranma. "Actually, the tigress type - as well as the white fur and dark blue stripes, were mainly part of your own makeup. Elements of your own personality helped shape that part of the transformation. Most likely Kuno knew of it ahead of time, which isn't hard to determine if you've got one of the magatama anyway. What I was referring to was things like your increased, uhm..."
"You not always get so frisky in strange man's company, he mean," said Shan Pu, floating overhead.
"WHAT?!" yelped Akane.
"Ramped up libido, extra sensitivity, things like that are common in those trying for a sexpet," said Nabiki, waving it off when Akane looked at her in horror. "Hey, once it happened I started reading up on it. A couple hunters HAVE left books and such behind when they're staying here."
Ranma nodded, grateful that he hadn't needed to go into detail in front of the girl in question. It wasn't that he didn't know about them, it was just embarassing as all heck to talk about it in front of the girl. "Yeah, he also added some other stuff. The good news is that you can assume a near-normal human form when you meet the condition."
"What condition?" asked Soun, about to cry in joy at the prospect of his daughter returning to (relative) normalcy.
"Yeah, what condition?" asked Akane.
"He wanted you to be his sexpet," said Ranma, "it looks like in order to attain human form you need to choose some guy. I was able to find and nip the part that specified 'Tatewaki Kuno' as that guy, so now it's just a guy you choose as yours. Once you do that, you'll need a symbol of that. Usually it's a collar."
"What aren't you telling me?" asked Akane, her voice rumbling with a growl.
"There's at least three sexual compulsions I found, and I defused two," said Ranma, glancing at where Akane's father was listening. Talking about this with a crowd and especially that father there was... not so easy.
"Okay," said Akane. "That explains that."
"What explains what?" asked Nabiki.
"I felt them stop," explained Akane without actually explaining.
"You felt them..." Nabiki's voice trailed off as she considered that. "Cravings?"
"Can we NOT talk about this?" asked Akane. "Ranma, thank you. So I try to find a guy I like, and then I can turn back to human?"
"That's it," agreed Ranma. "You'll still have some sign in human form, maybe the cat ears or the tail or something, but that's about it."
"Oh," said Akane. "Can't think of anyone, but until I do the only problem is that I'm stuck in this form, right?"
"and," said Ranma.
"Yes, and the remaining craving," said Akane, straightening up. "Well I can live with that."
