So, when he woke up and saw that he was in a hospital room, his main concern was the idea that he might have to pay for such good service.
Then he saw that the nurse was pulling out a needle that looked as big as his forearm.
He realized then that as he was in casts, braces, and restraints, he wasn't about to be able to run.
However, he could scream through the bandages covering his mouth really well.
It had seemed to be an easy idea when they had come up with it. They would wait until Ranma was old enough, then introduce him to Kasumi, Nabiki, and Akane. One of the girls would be chosen to be his wife, and then they'd have the wedding. All that they'd have to wait for would be the moment when the first child would be born, and both lines would be secured for another generation.
Soun Tendo now had problems with dealing with the arrangement.
Not that he had any reservations about it himself, as it was something that he'd still been willing to wait ten years for. The universe had apparently decided to shift things about though, as he now had Ranma there in his house at that moment, about a decade before he was supposed to come with his father. Of course, leaving the poor boy to fend for himself was never a consideration, as he would never be able to abandon the only child of his best friend.

The eldest of the children involved was Kasumi, who was still in grammar school, which would mean that there wasn't going to be a wedding for a long time.
And not only had he brought Ranma into his home, but he now had a bunch of strange girls who had some sort of odd relationship with the male part of the engagement agreement.
Hanging his head, he glanced over at the sight of one of those 'pokegirls', the one with the short blue hair, bent over what looked like some sort of electronic device, and wondered what he should do. He wasn't exactly clear as to what their relationship with Ranma was, or its impact on the promise that he'd made with Genma. As it was, he didn't know if these girls thought that they were going to be the boy's brides, or if he could get them to put the agreement first.
If he told them, then he might be able to get everything settled right away. Then he could get them to recognize one of his girls as the proper bride for Ranma. Of course, that might bring up trouble from his wife, his daughters, these 'pokegirls', and even Ranma. The issue was a matter of family honor, and would have to be revealed sooner or later. But, he just didn't know what sort of trouble that these new girls would bring into the equation.
This was not going to be an easy situation to handle, and the only thing that he could think to do was to:
