GojiRanma: Shampoo's Splashdown [Episode 165716]

by Kestral

"GREANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH!" said Gojira-ranma, more than a little uncertain about all this.

"Just testing a theory," said Cologne, reading body language as she adjusted the teapot on the stove.

"Grunnnnn," said Gojira. It had been an eventful and fairly rough day so far. He just wanted to catch a nap or something. Preferably away from that weird girl with the green eyes and the blue hair.

Especially as she was now wearing a Kaiju Battle World Tour T-shirt that had HIS picture on it. Good grief.

Cologne saw the steam rising from the spout, dashed up the pot and splashed the big lizard sitting right outside the door.

"YEOWTCH! THAT'S HOT! That's..." The boy held up his hands, then began feeling his face. "I'm back?! ALRIGHT!"

Cologne sighed. That's what she thought. She was going to have to tie the boy down now in order to get him calmed down enough to listen.

Thank goodness it was just the one. Imagine how much worse the problems could have been if there'd been more.

Everyone came and looked at it. It was worth staring at.

The patrol was composed entirely of Sukhoi-27 Flankers, and they were here to guard Soviet airspace. However, this was just plain weird.

"I thought flying saucers were just something that the evil Americans made up," confessed Sergei.

"Fool!" declared Boris. "There is no such thing!"

"Okay, Boris. What do you call THAT?" asked Sergei, his Flanker pulling close to the odd object.

"A hallucination brought on by too many hours working," said Boris with complete confidence. "We are obviously in need of some serious downtime."

"What about our cameras and instrument recorders?" asked Andrei. "What about radar?"

"If anything, it is merely some sort of weather balloon," suggested Boris.

"With rocket exhausts, rotating as it flies, and making several odd changes of direction?" asked Andrei.

"Ludmilla? Back me up here please," tried Boris.

"I see nothing. I hear nothing. I know nothing. It is always safest when the KGB may be involved," said the single female member of the squadron.

"THEM?" asked Andrei, considering the UFO.

"I thought they had broken up with the CCCP," said Sergei.

"That's what THEY want you to think," suggested Ludmilla.

"That would be pretty sneaky, even for the KGB," said Sergei.

"Whatever it is," said Andrei, "it is too silly looking to be a threat."

Nikolai had been silent. "It is Gamera."

"Gamma ray? You are saying it is radioactive?" asked Ludmilla.

"Yes," said Nikolai.

Abruptly there was a much larger open area around the spinning tortoise shell.

"In that case, we don't dare shoot it down," said Sergei. "We'll just have to escort it outside our borders."

"Maybe we'll have to escort it as far as Germany," suggested Ludmilla.

"Why Germany?" asked Andrei.

"We can stop and refuel our planes, and I know an airstrip where the beer is so dark..." said Ludmilla, her voice trailing off suggestively.

"I think I know that airstrip," said Andrei.

"Well, it is a sacrifice - but we are loyal to Mother Russia, are we not? It is only fair," said Boris. "Even if it IS just a mass hallucination brought on by overwork."

Ryoga, in the meantime, was wondering where the hell he was now.

Shampoo had come out of the spring, determined what she was, and was less than happy with what had happened.

After all, it was not every day that one became cursed to turn into -
