She entered the closet and almost ran against the wooden backside of the furniture. Strangely enough, she had a very weird feeling, like some part of her went ahead of her. "Wh... what the...?"
Mamoru sighed. "See, I told you it was a stupid idea."
"I would agree with him," another voice added. "Please get out of there before you get hurt."
It was Miss Mizuno. Together with Grandpa, she entered the room.
"But... but that's impossible," Ranma nearly screeched. "I KNOW I saw a corridor there." She carefully looked at the backside of the closet. The she knocked. It sounded hollow. "A-hah!"
"You are pretty careless," Grandpa reproachfully said. "I told you it's not safe in there."
Ranma turned around. "I know there's a secret corridor. There's another secret door, right? And you pressed a button so I couldn't find it!" She knocked again. "There! It's hollow! There MUST be something behind that."
And she pressed her fingers through a slit between the old shelves and pulled them apart with a loud 'crack'.
"Oh my..." Grandpa sighed.
Ranma didn't stop until the whole shelve had been ripped out. Behind the closet there was a little chasm in the wall, but the wall was composed of solid bricks.
"That... that cannot be," Ranma said. With a fury, of which Akane would have been proud, she downright attacked the wooden shelves of the closet and broke them and ripped them apart, until they could only see the solid brick wall behind the closet.
"Impressive," Mamoru mocked her. "Who's your sister? Supergirl?"
"Well," Grandpa said. "It looks like now I HAVE a reason to build in a new closet."
Ranma breathed heavily until Miss Mizuno touched her shoulder. "I guess you had a pretty bad day. Why don't we just grab your things, than you can say your grandfather goodbye, and we will be on our way, okay?" Ranma didn't protest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She entered the corridor and turned around. Strangely enough, she had a very weird feeling, like some part of her stayed behind, in front of the door. "See? There's plenty of room for both of us."
Mamoru didn't respond. He couldn't because he wasn't there any more. There wasn't even a door any more. Behind Ranma, there was just a massive stone wall.
Ranma just gawked at the wall and tried to make sense of it. Then she ran to the wall and knocked against it. "Hey! Mamoru? Are you there? Open the door, dammit!" But it didn't sound like Mamoru was behind this wall.
It didn't sound like there was anything behind that wall at all.
Ranma's hand drooped. Looks like she entered the Twilight Zone again. "Why does this always happen to me?" she whimpered.
After a few minutes, she decided to go. If the door behind her vanished, perhaps there was another door somewhere around here.
Ranma silently walked along the corridor. She had walked several hours it seemed, but still there was no end of the corridor. It seemed impossible for a corridor to be this long. After running for a short time, she decided to give up and return to the wall. But when she SHOULD have reached the place where she entered the corridor, there was no wall except for the ones to her left or right. The corridor seemed to go on endlessly in that direction, too.
But not too long ago, she had been standing before that wall. She had even pounded against the bricks. So she knew they HAD been there.
She entered a few of the rooms, but all of them looked the same. They were dark and dusty, with a table, a sofa, a few chairs and two bookshelves in every room. On the floor of every room there was an old carpet, and on every ceiling there was a crystal chandelier.
Now and then she would come across some spiral stairs that went up and down, but how things were it looked like the floors up and down were exactly the same as the one she appeared in at first.
After running through the corridors and rooms for another hour or so, Ranma's legs began to tire. She went into one of the rooms and set down on the sofa. All of this didn't make any sense.
She wondered if Shampoo, Mamoru, Grandpa and Miss Mizuno were already worried about her disappearance.
Before she could think of anything else, the room's door opened and a little girl entered. She was younger than Ranma, she couldn't be older than 14 years old, and she had short, violet-black hair.
"Hello!" Ranma smiled. "I didn't know there was someone else here. Hey, what's your name? Can you tell me where we are?"
The girl's eyes got wide. "Who... who are you? Wh-where did you come from?" She seemed to be afraid of something.
Ranma carefully stood up. "Hey, don't worry! I won't hurt you!"
"Are you crazy? They will be her soon!" She staggered back through the door. "Run! They're coming! Run for your life!" And she ran down the corridor.
Ranma stepped out of the room and looked in the direction the girl had disappeared in. She scratched her head. Why was she that afraid?
What did she say? RUN FOR YOUR LIFE?
Ranma had to snicker about that thought and slowly turned around.
And his smile froze to a grimace.
Because the things that were approaching looked like something that came right out of her darkest nightmares.
She screamed!
