And naturally of course, was leading it as the Shogunate, with his two 'brides'.
But true to Nodoka's sword, her family sword never allow Kuno to use it.
If it had hidden powers or not, the nature of the dream changed significally. A dream where Kuno's glorious idea of a uptopian Japan was destroyed on a whim by a large gold and black dragon.
Soon in the dream, all of Tokyo was in flames, and Kuno's samurai army was slaughtered, either crushed or eaten by the dragon.
Kuno haughtly stood on his palace roof, surrounded by flames, proclaiming he will slay the beast. With one swipe, the beast grasped Kuno in its hands and draw him to its face. "Kuno Tatewaki, your fate has been sealed. By taking this sword, one shall come to reclaim his honor with your death." With that the dragon prepared to eat Kuno alive...
Overseas in America...
"We have footage of Japan of police trying to subdue a madman who apparently, has some sort of weapon that shoots lightning. The madman claims he's going to return Japan to the era of the Shogun."
Kin "Ryu" Nocturne watched as he saw the figure in the footage direct lightning at the officers that got near him, and shook his head. Having a Japanese mother and a American father, he grew up knowing his Japanese heritage as well as knowing the Founding Fathers. His mother was an descendant from a Samurai clan, one that was apparently dishonored in the past. While he respected the concept, he didn't like the fact there were few recourses for dishonored families(as far as he can tell). "The man is identified as 18-year-old Tatewaki Kuno, school student from Nerima."
Kin spat his drink out, in realization that this man had the same name of the family who dishonored his mother's samurai clan. And now this man is right now causing disorder.
As more and more he listened, he began to dislike the man, as details how without mercy he killed an American business man in front of his wife, and how he stole a blade from a woman, claiming it was truly his families.
Kin knew he was wrong, considering he did create a database of descendants of Samurai clans and their swords. He knew, from whatever records of the Kunos he had, they never had contacts with the Saotomes(or whoever house Nodoka was from). And not mention while he didn't have info on Kuno's family blade, he did have info on Nodoka's family blade.
That was it. He was going to stop Kuno. His ancestors dishonored his mother's clan, and he was now causing disorder with a blade that wasn't his.
And not to mention if Kuno did win, he could attack America in his anger.
As such while Kin "Ryu" Nocturne was half-Japanese, he is 100% patriotic American. Patriotic enough to help produce prototype battletech armor for U.S. forces in future conflicts...
Hmmm.... there is a prototype ready, the GB-1000 Dragon Suit. And it should repulse Kuno's lightning attacks.
He just hoped the Army would honor him instead of kill him for using weapons only meant for them.
