Volcano Girls: Vengeance's Children (DARK) [Episode 16791]

by Nightelf

Ranma felt the ground go liquid beneath his feet, and adjusted his stance slightly. One advantage to his father’s insane martial arts training was the ability to always keep his feet - if he was looking.

As the pale-faced demon faced off against him, it was no surprise for him that the demon was similiar; he rode the waves of earth as if they were nothing. Ranma frowned; this battle wouldn't be easy. “Who are you? What did these idiots ever do to you?”

The demon crossed his arms and chuckled. “Dense as ever, eh -” A rioter with incredible bravery and no common sense took that moment to crack a baseball bat across Onryu’s head. The bat broke in two; the rioter had maybe a second’s warning before bursting into flames. “Fool. Thought to attack me from behind. A cowardly attack - much like the one that killed my mother.” His sneer faded. “Much like the one that killed me.”

Ranma blinked. “Who are you?”

Onryu smiled gently. “I am Onryu. I am nemesis; I am vengeance personified; I am the death that comes from above.” He moved into a martial stance. “Allow me my sworn duty, or face my wrath in their place.”

Ranma looked around. Only a few brave souls remained; however, he wouldn’t put it past this Onryu to follow them to the ends of the earth. “It’s a martial artist’s duty to protect the weak.” His eyes took in his opponent’s stance, and he gasped. “Mousse?”

Onryu’s eyes narrowed. “Mu Tse is dead, Saotome. I presume your choice is to fight?”

Ranma relaxed his stance. “Mousse - or Onryu, whatever you want to call yourself now - these people aren’t your enemy. Kill the one who killed your mom; kill the one who killed you. Leave these people out of it.”

“You don’t understand!” Onryu screamed, and launched chains of fire at his onetime rival. Ranma leapt out of the way to dodge. “This attitude... this sickening ‘Japan over all’ attitude... that is what killed me! My mother... she was killed just for having red hair!” He continued to throw his chains. “Only vengeance can silence the voices of outrage from their victims!”

Ranma frowned. He didn’t dare touch the chains; however, he had to do something... a thought crossed his head, and he considered it.

“Come on, Onryu.” He didn’t know how becoming a demon had affected his mind; he just hoped he could get away with it. “Show me what you’ve got.”

Onryu snarled, and tossed more chains, following Ranma as he danced around. Ranma grimaced; Onryu was a lot faster than Mousse, and a lot more dangerous. He didn’t know what would happen if it didn’t work...

“Hiryuu Shouten Ha!”

“Thank you,” Onryu whispered, and opened his sleeves as the winds carried him. “Hell’s Maelstrom!” he cried as he spun to the sky; tendrils of fire flew from the tornado, touching any rioter who remained and burning them to ash. Ranma grimaced at the sight; he hadn’t meant for this...

The winds died down, and Onryu settled on the ledge of a nearby building. “My vengeance is done for now, Saotome. Again, I thank you. Fare well in your own quest for vengeance.”

“Onryu!” Ranma screamed as Onryu blinked away, then smashed his fist against the pavement. He muttered a curse, then looked around at his surroundings, at the blood and ashes that carpeted the street.

Death had come to Japan. He had to stop it - and stop Kunou - before it got worse. If Kunou succeeded in returning Japan to war, the street he saw was merely a prelude for the entire country. Women and children would be ground before lightning and fire, the sacrifice of madmen.

He moved away from the carnage. He had a monster to kill.
