"For now, we will help him, as he disapproves of the gaijin prescene as much as we do. Our target for the M-66 will be.... the American Embassy."
"You want me to be what, sir?" Kin "Ryu" Nocturne as the general explained things to him.
"Be an independent agent in Japan. As you know, our boys can't go into action until the JSDF gets their butts kicked, and not to mention we will only be ready to get their in 72 hours. But we want to put this Blue Thunder down as fast as the Prime Minister in Japan does, and we can't wait for the right to intervene."
Kin nodded, understanding what the general wanted. "You want someone with no direct ties to the American military taking out Kuno."
"We know your intentions, Mr. Noctune. We suspected you would want to take on Kuno yourself using the prototypes. We decided if we can't stop you.... we'll make you an independent agent." Kin breathed a sigh of relief. "We know how much you want to serve for your country. Not many businessmen take a leave of absense to serve in the military."
"I guess you know me too well."
"We do."
"If that's the case.... I'll do it.... on one condition."
"What's that?" the general asked. "That I use this opportunity to test out something of my own creation." With that Kin activated a control panel and opened a set of large doors, revealing a silver 50 foot tall battle mech that resembled Godzilla with wings. "This was a surprise project I intended to show the Joint Chief of Staffs, but maybe a demo in actual battle conditions will be better sell. Besides, I think those other crazies in Japan other their have other tricks we don't know about."
"And being prepared for any possibility is always a must in any war. That's what we like about you. I agree to your conditions."
Kin and the general shook hands. "Splendid."
