Usagi shook her head, trying to clear it of the weird dream she had had. A city of glass towers. Wearing an odd costume and using odd runeless magic. How very very strange.
Having the Crescent Moon Rune, a signature Rune, did have considerable power and carried some responsibility. It wasn't as if she were prone to running around in such a short skirt though. It had powers similar to the Resurrection Rune, or so she recalled when she'd talked to a very scary lady all in black.
Scary lady had said something about how "he" was in Felana, that he'd be gathering 108 stars of destiny. That the others would be there.
Usagi the Maximillian Knight wasn't too sure about the how or why - but it was obvious to her that if there was evil afoot she needed to stomp on it with the armored boot of righteousness!
trip, wham, clatter
Maybe she ought to leave the armor at home though.
"Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother!" (GLOMP!)
Faroush tolerated the little girl's grab and listened to her bodyguard's remark about resembling an 'armadillon' father and daughter. Since he wasn't sure whether that referred to an animal, a nation, or a religious sect - he wasn't at all sure how to react to that.
"You already came to see Father didn't bother to come see me? How dare you?!" asked Lym after dropping the glomp.
Ferid roused himself from his distraction. "Now, now. Don't be so hard on your brother. Faroush was looking for you, too, you know."
"But Father!" protested Lymsleia. "I wanted to see him so bad! He's always off on some inspection or something these days. He's never around! He's probably going off someplace again tomorrow, isn't he?"
Ferid, Commander of the Queen's Knights, and the father of both Faroush and Lymseleia, frowned. "Well, originally he was going to be here for a few days..."
"See!" declared Lym. "I knew it!"
"I just want to have a few things checked into," said Ferid. "Concerns regarding some magic. He won't leave the city for a few days though."
Lym huffed and looked quite upset. "You keep him so busy. Where is he going next?"
"If things check out," said Ferid, looking serious now, "I'll be sending Faroush to Stormfist to check on the preparations for the Sacred Games."
"The Sacred Games?" asked Lym, looking less certain. "Oh, that big fighting tournament. The one that's going to decide who my husband's going to be. That."
Ferid visibly recoiled from one particular word. "H-Hus... well, yes."
"Your Majesty?" asked Lyon.
"Not quite on board with the idea, are you, Your Majesty?" asked a smirking Kyle.
Ferid shook his head. "Of course not! She's far too young!"
"But... she's our nation's princess," conceded Ferid. "It's her sacred duty. There's nothing we can do about it."
"Well, to be fair, Your Majesty wouldn't be here today if you hadn't won the last Games," pointed out Kyle.
"That was different," said Faroush, then looked surprised as if he hadn't meant to say anything.
"Hey, brother," asked Lym, "what about you? Would you hate it if I had a fiance too?"
"Of course I'd hate it," said Faroush. "You're too young to have a fiance, and that kind of thing is just going to cause problems. Wait and see."
"You sound like you've some experience with it, but you've never even dated, Faroush," pointed out Ferid. "Or have you been sneaking off to the city without telling anyone?"
"What?" asked Faroush.
The conversation swirled around him as Ranma/Faroush considered his feelings on the matter. Lymseleia was his little sister and he was very protective of her. Having her go through any of the problems he as Ranma had had - not tolerable!
"They're keeping the list of applicants over at the Senate," said Ferid. "Not that I have any interest in reading it, mind you!"
"Well, I want to see it," said Miakis, Lym's bodyguard. "Don't you, Princess? I bet you do!"
"Well, maybe I'm a little curious," admitted Lym.
"Oooh, ooh, can I see?" asked Kyle.
"Me too, please!" chimed in Lyon.
"Then it's settled!" said Miakis. "Come on, Prince, let's go!"
"Come on, let's go read about your future brother-in-law!" said Kyle.
"Yeah, I gotta see the name of this guy," agreed Faroush, clenching a hand and letting the Rune there glitter. "I have to have the tombstone made after all."
Dead silence.
"T-t-tombstone?" asked Alenia, startled by the chill in the Prince's voice.
"Yeah. If her fiance makes one inappropriate move on MY little sister," Faroush slammed his fist into the wall.
CRUNCH!
Several of the Knights stared at the little impact crater.
Georg nodded approvingly. "You know, Ferid, I'm seeing a lot of you in your little boy."
Ferid began to smile. "Yeah. I think you're right."
