Where ever he was, the sleepy floating feeling had been pleasant.
Unfortunately the same things that brought peace became big problems when he suddenly started lurching. Unable to see anything or even tell which way was up or down, the sudden strange sensations turned the sensory deprevation into something horrible.
Lurching around in unknown directions, Ranma briefly worried about which direction would be the right one to puke in.
Spinning in the darkness, he suddenly became aware of a light to orient himself upon. That was fortunately all he needed to orient himself as the globular ball of glowing something started casting a shadow as if it were nearing a floor. As the glow dimmed, a dark figure became visible inside, revealing the pale glow to be a lingering aura that was fading into nothing.
As the aura glow faded, Ranma was briefly engulfed in darkness again, only to have a new light softly illuminate the area. Looking around for the source, he suddenly realized he was the one glowing now and lighting the formless place up.
With the lights back on, he was able to get a good look at the girl. Athletically built, thin, as tall as him with dusky skin and a wild mane of pale glowing white hair, she was most definitely not his cursed form. Particularly as her harsh face and sharp pale eyes glared at him, he had a feeling that things hadn't gone right.
That feeling was seconded.
There appears to be a problem.
"Oh joy. Lemme guess, she's like an evil mirror clone and wants ta kill me cause I exist and stuff?"
How did you know?
"It's a gift."
Yes well, apparently this happened last time, so it's not too surprising. She's basically your Yin split off to form your negative aspect. That means she is weaker than you, and rightly fears her survival if she were to be reabsorbed into you to restore your power. As such she will likely try to weaken you so she can take your essence for herself.
"That sucks. Am I cured of the curse at least?"
If you call having your negative aspect granted water dragon powers you are now weak to and wishing to kill you cured, why yes. Very much cured.
"Ah, ain't so bad then. It's not like I'm some weakling now, so why not just let her keep a bit of my strength? I mean it's only fair, she needs some right?"
True, but it is better to stop her sooner before she becomes a dangerous foe.
"Beh, if I was like that, Ryouga'd be dead long ago."
As Ranma walked over to her, she scooted warily away from him, finding that sitting on the floor and moving backwards to be both awkward and slow.
Stopping when it became obvious they were getting no where, Ranma started unbuttoning his shirt much to the new girl's confusion. Holding the article of clothing out to her only resulted in more confusion and distrust. "Hey look, everyone gets upset if I let my girl-form go around topless, much less nude, so just take it. Heck, thanks to you I can go around topless all I want again without anyone griping and making a fuss."
Apparently getting the point, the new girl snatched the shirt from his hand and struggled into it as if he were going to jump her any second.
Sighing in frustration at all of the melodrama, Ranma tried to smooth over things. "Yeesh, you can keep yer life already. I'd just be happy if ya don't go outta yer way to make my life hell."
Now somewhat decent, the girl stood proudly, glaring at her other self. "...and what if you come to regret that decision?"
Shrugging carelessly, Ranma started walking aimlessly around. "Eh so what, I regret a buncha stuff if ya look at it that way. That's what ya get when ya give people a chance, but sometimes it don't turn out so bad."
Smirking, the white haired girl stared boldly at him. "Very well then. You should know my name them. I am Fuu Lao."
"Uhm, okay, nice ta meet ya I guess."
Back in Nerima, Shampoo stared up in shock at the glowing dragon that now apparently held Ranma captive.
As did most of the rest of Nerima, even people that weren't really from Nerima. The glowing dragon was about as subtle as Happousai at a lingerie convention, so a significant portion of Tokyo's stranger residents were watching it at least from a distance.
That the dragon was dealing with a milling crowd meant it wasn't listening to any particular people now that its target was acquired.
That didn't mean he wasn't without compassion however.
As various brighter members of the crowd realized the giant glowing magical dragon wasn't replying to anyone in specific, they started trying to figure things out.
Not a surprise to many, Ukyou started to glow before becoming a glowing dot that swarmed upwards to be near her childhood sweetheart.
To the surprise of many however, the second person to join Ranma as a glowing marble of light was a Tendou girl.
No, it wasn't Akane. She was still trying to figure out what exactly Ranma had done wrong here.
No, Nabiki was still taking money in return for explaining what was going on in simple terms for the mentally challenged of Nerima.
No, it wasn't Soun either.
To the surprise of some that had forgotten that there was even a third Tendou girl named Kasumi, the quiet girl was now gone. For those that knew her, it was a surprise that she would suddenly up and leave, or even really do anything more exciting than grocery shopping.
Of course, a few of the more 'knowing' housewives were gossiping among their selves about a young lady like her seeking romance and adventure.
...or she might just have liked Mr. Dragon like she'd been muttering only moments before.
Eh, who knows? It's always the quiet ones isn't it?
