Lamp Of Mihoshi: Bend It Like... [Episode 170321]

by Kestral

Mihoshi had manipulated things. Now five year old Ranma wasn't the only one affected, as he had to have teachers didn't he? So these Element Masters would have to be provided too and would have ripples beyond Ranma.

That was okay too. Mihoshi thought it would be "neat."

The first study was waterbending. The old sensei of the Innuit tribe nodded as Ranma did Tai Chi, with his qi tuning into the appropriate element.

Instruction had required a light hypnotic trance, as well as some shiatsu and chi manipulation techniques. Old Iagin knew his stuff though. Soon Ranma was manipulating water.

"Water is most adaptable, most changing, most accomodating of the elements," instructed Iagin. "Water can freeze as solid as ice, as soft as snow. It can shift and change to fit whatever circumstance."

Ranma grunted as he directed a whip of water towards the swinging targets.

"Ba Gua is a mainly defensive style, and it's all about circles," said the old woman. "Air is the element. And... Shampoo, stop bothering the boy!"

"Shampoo not bothering crazy outsider boy," insisted the purple haired girl. "She not see anything interesting in this style."

The old woman waved her staff around a few times and then made a passing gesture towards her great granddaughter.

Whoooooooooooooosh SLAM!

"When she wakes up, maybe she'll be a little less flirtatious," said the old woman.

"What's flir-ta-," asked seven year old Ranma.

whack!

"OW! What's that for?!"

Cologne concentrated. "I'm just teaching you airbending as a favor. I'm not sure you can even LEARN this style much less concentrate long enough to begin its path."

Ranma grumped. He'd show the old ghoul!

"Solid, firm, with power," said the Earth Sensei, Nairu. In the African sun his skin seemed to steam. "The style is Tiger-Crane Kung Fu, and you tune your ki to it like THIS."

Ranma, eleven years old, watched as Nairu struck the ground, splitting it and sending a rock up. His kick was already in motion, hurling the stone at rifle speeds to strike a hyena.

"Bah, hyena stew again," said Nairu.

Thirteen year old Ranma watched as the woman breathed, focussed, and was holding a globe of fire immediately thereafter.

"Fire. The most destructive element. The most powerful, the most deadly, the most painful."

"Uh huh," said Ranma. Yeah he could kinda see that. Each element had its strength.

"The style is Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, not that I expect any outsider to master it," said the woman disdainfully.

"Know it," said Ranma.

"Excuse me?" asked the woman.

"Learned that after I learned Ba Gua from the old ghoul," said Ranma. "Also Amazonian Wu Shu, Sa Soo Kung Fu, some other stuff. Ya got anything to eat?"

"An 'old ghoul'?" asked the woman. "Not... Cologne?"

"Yeah," said Ranma.

"Well, let's unlearn what stupid mistakes she probably taught you," said the woman.

Ranma was thirteen but he still caught that. "Rival?"

"Childhood friends who had a parting of the ways and considerable animosity thereafter," said the woman.

"Oh boy," said Ranma, not sounding happy.
