Professor Tomoe took in the sight of Gojira, Hotaru, and a crowd of people standing right outside his property line videotaping this and decided to ask Hotaru about this... partly because he didn’t think the big lizard would fit through his doorway.
“Hotaru dear,” Prof. Souichi Tomoe started in a rather sweet and kindly tone. “What are you doing here with Gojira?”
Raising a hand, Hotaru pointed to her big friend and said, “He helped me get home safely, Papa-san. Can I keep him?”
“K-keep him?” Prof. Tomoe asked as he looked the creature up and down. A drop of sweat started to drip down his brow as Gojira leaned forward, seemingly staring at the painted right lens of his glasses in curiosity. He had been a fan of the movies in his teenage years. He knew that Gojira could tell the difference between a ‘good’ Kaiju and a ‘bad’ Kaiju. Could he be sensing Geramotou?
The white-haired scientist was taken out of his musings as he felt his little girl tugging on his sleeve. “Papa-san?” She asked quietly. “What’s wrong, Papa-san. You look ill...” she was used to being the one who looked and felt ill. Seeing it happen to her father somehow felt ‘odd’.
“Uh, I’ll be fine, Hotaru-chan,” the Professor assured his daughter. “But what makes you think you can bring Gojira home as a pet, sweety?”
Smiling, Hotaru explained, “He protected me from those bullies that are always picking on me. He made sure I was able to come how safely. Shouldn’t I be happy to have a friend like him?”
Blinking his eyes, (or the one that could be seen) the good professor looked back and forth between the small girl and the large Kaiju. “But sweety,” Prof. Tomoe started in a soft voice, “You say Gojira is your friend, right?”
Nodding her head, Hotaru answered, “Of course, daddy.”
“But what you’re saying is you want to keep him,” Prof. Tomoe was quick to point out. “You don’t keep friends, you keep pets. Are you thinking to keep Gojira here as a pet?”
The pale-skinned girl blushed lightly. “Well... that was kinda the idea...”
GojiRanma rolled his eyes. He didn’t mind protecting the little girl, as it was the duty of a martial arts to protect those that couldn’t defend themselves. But he was NO pet!
“But you don’t do that to friends,” the unstable Professor said to his little girl. Kneeling down to her eye level he said, “You don’t own friends.”
Nodding her head at her daddy’s words, the little violet-tressed girl knew that her wise and benevolent father was right. After all, he was a scientist, a teacher, and an adult. He knew these things best. Looking her father in the eyes, she asked him, “Could I at least allow Gojira into the house?”
Blinking his eye, Prof. Tomoe asked, “What?”
“Well, you said I should treat him as a friend,” Hotaru told her father. “Aren’t friends supposed to invite friends over to play and have fun?”
GojiRanma perked up a bit at that. While the place was creeping out, he didn’t think it would hurt to stay long enough to use a stove or bathtub and get himself some hot water. Then when he was back in his true form, he could explain everything to the girl and her father and be on his merry way.
“Er...” the Professor wasn’t sure how to respond to that one. “Well, Hotaru, you see the thing is...”
“LOOK!” A voice from the crowd gathered shouted. “The Sailor Senshi!”
Professor Tomoe paled at that. Both he and his daughter turned to see that yes, a group of color-coded Sailor-suited girls was coming towards his mansion. Good lord Pharaoh 90! The jig was up!
The visor of her Mercury Computer over her face, Sailor Mercury was holding the small laptop console with her left hand and typing into it with her right. “This is it guys. The source of the disturbance.”
“Finally, we’re ready for some action!” Sailor Jupiter voiced her feelings. “This time we’ll get the drop on whatever was terrorizing the city earlier.”
“Yeah, and it’s...” Sailor Venus blinked her eyes as she saw one figure literally standing a couple of heads above the rest. “Gojira-sama?”
“Gojira-sama?” The others asked as they turned to look at their orange-costumed teammate.
Pointing over the crowds and directly at the green which stood out, Venus repeated, “Gojira-sama!”
The other four Sailor Senshi turned to look at where the Senshi of Venus was pointing, they ignored the crowds of television crew and onlookers and indeed saw the upper half of Gojira looking over at that.
“Guys... is he giving us the peace symbol?” Sailor Mars asked as she saw the motion of the Kaiju King’s raised hand.
“Looks like it,” Sailor Mercury said. “And he seems to be the source of this energy signature I’ve been following.”
Her eyes widening, Sailor Moon asked. “We have to fight Gojira? What do we look like, the JDSF?”
“One,” Minako pointed out, ever the loyal Gojira-movie Fan. “The JDSF always lose. And two, he IS giving us the peace symbol. Maybe he doesn’t want to fight?”
“Maybe...” Jupiter said. “So what now?”
Looking around and noticing how scrutinized by the crowded masses, Sailor Moon suggested, “Maybe we should talk?”
And so, much to the fear of a certain Daimon-possessed Pofessor, the Sailor Senshi started to make their way towards him, going through the crowds and constant questioning of news-groups and fans alike. It was obvious what was going on. The Sailor Senshi appeared and since Gojira could sense a bad Kaiju, and with all these reporters, vultures o the media, it must be that he’s led everyone to his doorstep! The jig was up! They had to know what was going on!
