Ranma froze instantly as he looked out the doorway of the room he woke up in. Two blue translucent images hung there unmoving, dressed in ornate robes with their heads bowed.
After a few moments of shock, Ranma recovered and entered the room. He flinched back as the two floating images suddenly flickered and began to move. The two figures raised their heads, pulling back the hoods of their robes. This revealed a middle aged couple, who stared at the wary Saotome. Finally the Female figure opened her mouth and began to speak.
“If you are watching this Ranma Saotome than my husband and I have failed in our quest to rescue our daughter. Now the task shall fall to you….”
“I knew telling Nabiki that I rescued Akane so many times that I should have a ‘Professional rescuer of girls from evil’ business card was a bad idea.” Ranma groaned placing his face into his hand, before turning his attention back to the images, which had continued on despite his distraction...
“… vanished several years ago without a trace. We searched everywhere for her, yet every one of our queries were in vain. Than about a year ago we managed to see our precious daughter in the news.”
The image shifted, displaying a news broadcast. Ranma blinked as he watched two groups of teenagers face off in a highly destructive brawl. On one side was some Green boy who shifted into various animals, a girl flying around in a dark blue cloak, a orange skinned girl, some sort of half-metal man, and some kid in brightly colored pajamas. The other group consisted of only three individuals, two males and one female. OF the males one was a midget running around on some sort of mechanical spider backpack. The other seemed to more than make up for his compatriot’s short stature, his bestial form towering over his companions and his opponents. Finally there was the female member of this trio, a darkly attired pale girl with pink hair swept up into a U shape via two black hair bands and slitted eyes of the same color.
The image wavered again, before zooming in onto the darkly dressed pink haired girl. It focused on her face, freezing in action there as the two adult’s voice began to speak again.
“Imagine our surprise to find our sweet, innocent daughter had become a supervillian calling herself Jinx! After further investigation we were able to discover that she had been brainwashed by a foul cretin known only as Brother Blood. As we make this recording, my husband and I are preparing to confront this Blood and save our daughter…”
The facial picture of Jinx began to shrink into the upper corner of the image as the two parent’s faces reappeared.
“However neither my husband or nor I have ever specialized in combative magic, thus we have set up a contingency spell in case we fail. I am sure you remember meeting our daughter over a decade ago, when we came across your father suffering from that Shinto cure.”
Ranma Grimaced. “Oh no… I bet I can guess where this is going….”
“You and our precious baby got along so well together. When your father offered you as her fiancée in exchange for removing the curse, how could we resist? Since you father was planning on training you to be a master of martial arts, perhaps you will succeed where we have failed. “
“Yup, I was right… another fiancé. Panda no baka…” Ranma muttered under his breath. Still she was in danger, and it was his duty to help her.
“We realize that as a martial artist, you may not be able to restore our daughter back to her true self on you own. Thus we have enchanted an amulet for you that will hopefully counter act Blood’s influence on her and restore her memories. However it is possible that our house will be raided by Blood prior to your summoning, thus we have hidden the Amulet at the following location. The amulet is hidden in a case near the jump city mall located at…..”
Ranma jumped as a sudden crash sounded outside the room he was in, drowning out the message as it spoke the exact location he needed to get to. He turned to the far door, shifting easily into a defensive stance as he saw…
