After all, the chance that he'd see the name of 'Motoko Aoyama' was so remote that he hadn't even considered the possibility.
But that was the name that was there, and he couldn't refute that. Not that he terribly minded it, as he knew the young woman in question, and was aware of what sort of relationship they'd have. There would be no awkward 'getting to know each other' period, and he wouldn't have to explain to her what his work was about. She would already know, and she wouldn't be freaked out over the adventures that he'd had, since she'd already shared in them.
Leaning back on the park bench he'd been sitting on as he'd looked over the file, he tried to take it easy. This was better than he might have feared, and he was certain that he could handle it. As he looked out over the grassy fields and the people strolling over it, he saw a peace there that he was certain would be in his work. The two of them were skilled individuals, and they certainly knew their stuff. Having been around each other for so long would give them an automatic understanding, and he was sure that they'd work together as well enough that there wouldn't be any problems.
Tilting his head back, he put a hopeful smile on his face. "This'll work out pretty well, won't it?"
And then a vision of him trying to order her around came into his mind. He could see himself at a dig site, instructing her to do 'this' and bring him 'that', basically putting her through the mountain of work that was an assistant's bane in life. Authority would rest in him, and he'd have to admonish her if something didn't go as he told her to do it. Then he had the image of her getting rather annoyed at him for bossing her around, which would lead to her using her bokuto on his head as she tried to inform him of just how annoyed she was. Plus, he didn't know exactly how he would explain this to Naru. His wife would likely understand, but he didn't want to have her mistake what the situation really was.
"Oh man.... I'm in for it now," he groaned, covering his face with one hand, while:
