"I'm...what"
Severus Snape closed his eyes. First Potter, now this?
"I -we - we the staff of this school have decided that your teaching practices have to be amended seriously, Professor Snape. And for that to take place - "
"Yes, yes, I heard you the first time - I am is forbidden to teach classes or grade homework unless he is under the effects of a Cheering potion, right?"
O rly. If the Headmaster or Minerva Mcgonagall had actually agreed with this, or even heard about it, he'd eat his ceremonial pointed hat he'd inherited from his Grand-Uncle on his mother's side.
Though, on the another hand -
Professor Filius Flitwick gulped. Severus Snape's eyes had begun to glitter with a utterly mad intensity...
"Oh, well - There is this ten-day Cheering potion that I've been just itching to try out - "
And then, Severus Snape...smiled.
It wasn't a pretty expression.
"....Whaaaat?" Albus Dumbledore whispered. "Cheering potions? For Severus?"
"Oh, no. No, no, no..."
Minerva Mcgonagall, on the other hand, didn't really seem to be too annoyed, all thing considering.
"Oh, Albus... We really have to stop all this newfangled 'protect the children' nonsense people have been importing from the Muggle world recently, you know that. And Professor Flitwick is the worst of the lot, in that respect..."
Minerva sighed, then.
"I mean, Albus, we used to have at least 2 or 3 students have fatal accidents or drop out an year, and there was none of this nonsense of parents complaining. I mean, even the muggle parents think they could complain these days, like they were real people or something...*hic*"
Albus grimaced, taking the bottle of firewine away from her.
"We do have to move with the time, Minerva. And...You're drunk. If you weren't, you would remember what happened when James Potter and Sirius Black thought dosing Severus with a long-acting Cheering charm was funny!"
"Oh I do so remember..." Minnie Mcgonagall hiccupped.
"And that's why I say - Leave. Them. Be."
"But Minnie..." Albus Dumbledore groaned. Minerva just smiled, as she pulled him close.
And besides, Minerva thought, Albus really did try to keep the Potter boy more sheltered then was good for them. And of Severus...
She sneered, then. Professor Flitwick was an utter idiot, sometimes. Could it be that he really couldn't tell without being given a list just how good Severus made all the other teachers look by comparison?
Not to mention that Hogwarts had started to get better OWLS grades then even Drumstaag in potions, after Severus had taken over... Nobody could say that man didn't know his potions, at the very least. If only he was any better at teaching the untalented... Oh, well, that just wasn't going happen, though. And a good things for Hogwarts in general, too.
Why, if Severus Snape didn't exist, they'd have to invent him from whole cloth!
Minnie McGounel smiled awfully like her animagus form, then.
"- Say, Albus? Wanna bet in how many days they'll come begging us for an antidote?"
