Magic Before: The Cousin of Lily and Petunia [Episode 172335]

by Disruptor

Harry Potter was dragging his trunk along behind him, after fleeing from his 'home'. He had just caused Vernon's sister to blow up like a balloon and bounce of the ceiling. He was about to pull his wand out, when he saw two people walking in his direction. They were a man and woman in their mid-twenties. The woman looked familiar to Harry for some reason. The man gave an amused chuckle as he looked at Harry.

"You're out late," the man said. "Where do you live?"

"Don't send me back there. I'm running away from them for what they have done."

"Easy. Easy. What's going on with them?"

The woman put a hand on the man's shoulder. "Sean, I saw a very large dog. It might not be safe."

"All right Cori, we'll discuss this in a building. Let's see if we can find a cop."

"Cop?" Harry asked.

Sean rolled his eyes upward. "A bobby or law officer. Let me get your chest and we'll be off."

Sean grabbed the trunk and easily pulled it behind him, as Cori hunted for a police officer. She soon saw one and approached the officer with what was going on. The group of four found an automatic Laundromat that was open and empty.

"Now, let's get some introductions out of the way," Sean said. "My name is Sean Barker. This is Cori Evans."

"I'm Officer Davidson," the police officer said.

"Harry Potter."

Cori frowned, as she heard that name. "Potter? Would your mother be Lily Evans Potter?"

"That was her name. Why? Do you know her?" Harry asked.

"My parents had me later in life, but Lily and Petunia Evans are my cousins," Cori replied. "Why were you running away from Lily? Dad always said she was nice and..."

"My parents died when I was one and I was sent to live with my Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon," Harry responded.

"All right. Then why wasn't my dad notified of her death?" Cori asked. "What's wrong with staying your Uncle Vernon?"

Harry gave a snort and told them of his life without the magic. He explained that until he got his first letter from the boarding school where his parents went to school, he lived in a cupboard under the stairs. He went on that he spent a week in the cupboard with a broken arm. Sean was struggling to keep from shouting in anger, but his face was getting a bit red. Cori sat there with a look of disgust on her features. The police officer stood up and looked at Cori.

"Miss Evans, since you are the next available kin, will you look after young Mister Potter?" The officer said.

"Of course," Cori said.

"Where are you staying?" Davidson asked.

Sean pointed east and replied, "In the harbor. It's that big ugly ship that has a strange blue symbol painted on the side. It serves as our home."

"You live on a ship?" Davidson asked.

"Cori's job and mine requires a lot of travelling. Cori is an archeologist. As for me, I do an import business of specialty items such as books or music recordings. I'll probably be stopping in Hong Kong and sell off the thousand rolls of toilet paper I have on board the ship and purchase stuff that can be legally sold in the States or here in England."

Davidson stared at Sean and shook his head in disbelief. "It's too bad that the two of you aren't married."

"It's not like we haven't tried," Sean said with a grin. "We've just had some bad luck with interruptions to our wedding ceremonies."

Cori smiled and shook her head.

"At any rate, please take care of Mister Potter and I'll be talking with the three of you tomorrow," Officer Davidson said.

Sean and Cori quickly took Harry down to the docks. Harry stared in shock at the huge vessel. There was something off about the ship, but Harry couldn't quite place it.

"I wonder how Atkins is going to react to this news," Sean muttered to himself.

"Atkins? Whose he?"

"David Atkins. He's a friend of ours that works in the United States government," Cori said, as she looked out over the ocean.

"I have to pick up my school books sometime soon," Harry said.

Sean opened a door and waved Harry inside. "Tomorrow or the next day we'll deal with that. For right now, it is night and you need some sleep."

Sean and Cori quickly left Harry in his room and had a hushed conversation.

"If he does stay with us, he will have to know," Cori said.

"I know," Sean whispered. "Hopefully, he won't be in too much shock when I tell him of the Advents, Cronos, or my possessing a Guyver armor."
