Dimension Wandering Ranma: Greeting New Neighbors [Episode 172589]

by The Demented Redhead

“Thank you for coming,” smiled Kasumi, as she led her fellow sisters to visit the restored shrine.

Nabiki just shrugged. It wasn’t like she wanted to go, but one couldn’t deny Kasumi anything she requested. It had a way of coming back to get them.

Akane just smiled, hoping she could either learn some hidden moves that Ranma didn’t know—purely so she could show that she could beat him at something—to expand her skills, as well as maybe get some blessings to help her pursue him, maybe even make him faithful.

The jerk...

“Ah, here we are,” said Kasumi, holding a covered dish she hoped to give to the new head of the shrine. “My, they have done a great job rebuilding the Windy Blossoms Shrine. It hardly looks like it's been here for years.”

Nabiki gave a quick eye to the repairs, noticing both the care and quality. “Maybe we can find out who fixed it, so we can pay them the next time Little Sister sends her fiancé through the roof.”

“That wasn’t my fault!” yelled Akane.

“Please, Akane, be respectful of the shrine and keep your voice down,” admonished Kasumi.

“Oh, I have guests.”

The three blinked at the familiar voice, before turning to look deeper in the shrine, and spotting a familiar face, surrounded by familiar red hair, held loosely, in a shrine maiden’s outfit.

“Ranma!” growled Akane. Was he being a pervert again?

Ranma-chan just sighed. It would just be her luck to arrive in a world where she was also located. “Come inside, and I shall endeavor to explain what questions you have, and the circumstances surrounding it.”

It had been a good story, in his opinion. After changing to his male form, taking a shrine priest’s outfit to keep with his profession, Ranma sat them down and offered them tea as he explained his journey to this world. It went about as well as expected.

“Oh my,” said Kasumi. “It’s so sad Grandfather Happosai lost his life like that.”

Ranma just arched an eyebrow at her. “You’re upset that the villain who tried to remove me from my world by force for keeping him from performing illegal acts lost his life.”

“I’m sure he didn’t mean any harm.”

Ranma just closed his eyes. It seemed the Kasumi of this world also had a large, easily fooled, heart. “I assure you that his death was at least painless.”

“Oh, that’s good then,” she replied with a smile, before serving him the dish she had brought. “I hope you enjoy it.”

He could only smile. “I’m sure it will be just as exemplary as the dishes made by the Kasumi from my world.”

“You expect us to believe you are from some other world,” growled Akane.

Ranma just tilted his head to the side. “I expect nothing from revealing the truth. However, you will have to admit that denying the truth does not negate the fact that what has occurred is the truth.”

Akane just snorted.

He could only sigh at her reluctance to accept fact. “I see some things remain the same on either side of the mirror,” said Ranma.

“So you have the same Jusenkyo curse as our Ranma,” said Nabiki. “And Uncle Genma turns into a girl there.”

“Uncle?”

She nodded towards him.

“Then Genma Saotome is here as well,” he said, trying to keep his anger and hatred from consuming him. A chance to beat upon the same evil that haunted him; it was almost too much to resist.

Seeing their nod, he began to think. What if he had stayed with Genma, if his health had not been a factor in leaving the fool he once called father? Was there a tie to the Tendos all along, like he suspected?

It did make sense. Happosai had often claimed to be the Grandmaster of the School of Anything Goes, a school that seemed to branch off to form the Saotome School, as well as the Tendo School. So it was very likely that such rare schools were related.

But then ... that meant there was a second version of him as well, one who had not managed to break away from Genma Saotome.

Then again, it wasn’t fair for him to assume that the same brainless fool who had ruined his childhood was the same personality that this Genma possessed. He shouldn’t feel angry towards those who truly didn’t deserve such anger.

“So, did you have multiple fiancées there as well?” asked a smirking Nabiki.

Then again, some people did deserve to have the vengeance of heaven thrust upon them.

Oh Kami-sama, I sound like that poor Kuno boy.
