The girl flew downwards towards the outer most 'ring' in the defensive shell of the strange land into which she had been unceremoniously thrust, away from the flickering portal that had expelled her. The ferocious roar of air screaming past proved an excellent alarm, quickly rousing the plummeting cat girl. Ranma Saotome blinked in confusion, as this was the first time she'd been dumped unprotected into an item, before recognizing the many key features which identified her as shooting towards the outer layer of an Item World. Though, she had never quite seen one from such a murderous angle before. Looking up, she saw a tremendous, craggy mountain gliding by beneath her. Or above her. Whatever.
The floating mountain was spotted with large boulders poking through the canopy of a primeval forest. The occasional clearing gave a tremendous view of grassy meadows, interspersed with babbling brooks and patches of wild flowers. It was all really quite impressive, in a scenic, pastoral kind of way, but the now a demoness was a tad concerned for her safety. After all, she was rocketing along, wind whipping through her hair and causing her fuzzy ears and poofy tail to flap embarrassingly as momentum made plans for her to make intimate contact with the real estate below.
Ranma had never been outside a base panel during the initial insertion before, and despite being easily durable enough to take the impact, she squeaked cutely as she smacked head on into the unforgiving embrace of a very large, very hard rock. She lay there for a minute, reflecting on how much that experience had sucked, before, finally, she stirred.
"Jeeze, ow... these things're sensitive..." She muttered, pushing herself up from where she had been eating dirt. Her chest throbbed painfully, but she was more focused on the humiliation she had just endured. Ranma Saotome was not supposed to be a girl, was not supposed to be overcome by a bunch of goons with "cameras," and most certainly was not supposed to be unceremoniously dumped into the item world like so much garbage. Her ears twitched, and behind her, her ridiculously fluffy tail waved in agitation.
When she got out, the Assembly was going to have, in the words of a certain Ricky Ricardo, "Some 'splainin to do." Preferably not before she had the chance to inflict considerable deal of physical "persuasion." Of course, only one person had the weight for such back room dealing, so it was fairly obvious that her former Overlord was behind it all, but "persuading" the Senators still sounded thoroughly appealing regardless. Perhaps after she'd shown her former employer who was the boss. Or rather, who was going to take over as the boss.
Unfortunately, she had to go quite a ways before that was really possible. She was on the top level of a highly ranked legendary, which left her facing opponents rated around level 260. Though she had great equipment and a serious boost to her stats due to repeated reincarnations from ridiculously high levels, she was still level one and as direct result would have to be very careful in how she engaged her opponents.
She paused, then decided that she should check her rating before engaging upon her rampage. Since she was a monster type, she'd also have to equip a new weapon. "Stupid... stupid... cat girl... ness." She grumbled lamely, pulling out her battle scanner, and locking it onto herself.
She was...
