"Setsuna! Setsuna, are you all right!?"
She'd plowed into a tree. She'd plowed into a tree. What was she, an Kindergartener just learning to navigate the streets?
And there was this great big jumble of memories in her mind...
"Setsuna! What happened!? ...Do you want to go see the school nurse?"
"Or maybe a hospital..."
No, no nurse and no hospital, damnit. Meiou Setsuna shook her head - well, the front part of her body, anyway - groggily.
"No, no, I'm alright..."
Her fellow students looked at her worriedly. It wasn't every day that somebody they knew just went and plowed into a tree, after all...
"Tell... tell Professor Tomoe that I don't feel to good and I'm taking off the rest of the day, 'kay?"
"...You're sure you don't want to go see the nurse?"
Yes I'm sure, I'm sure, damnit -
Meiou Setsuna groaned.
Her life had just gotten... complicated.
Very, very complicated.
Setsuna wheeled back to her Dorms with much difficulty, almost getting lost twice along the way when she made the mistake of actually trying to figure out how to get there. She was fine when she was on autopilot (almost literally), but when she tried to actually think about it -
Ahh, home at last. She managed to make her way up the ramp, groggy with her headache. She did have aspirin, or something like it anyway, right? Yes, yes, of course she did, she was a Uni student, after all...
And now to sleep. Figuring out what was what could come afterwards, if at all.
She crawled onto the spongy palate, and fell asleep almost immediately.
She had odd dreams, of massive Crystal spheres (those dreams she had had before, maybe...) and a beautiful stately Queen, with shining balls and trailers on her - well, roof, maybe? It was hard to tell, for some reason - and then of being a strange being with no wheels though they had those strange things called feet, and they moved around with their undersides exposed, how odd, and then -
She awoke in the morning, still groggy, but at least not ready to pound her head into the hanger walls to get rid of her headache.
She was Meiou Setsuna, Car (DeLorean). She was also Meiou Setsuna, Human, as well as Sailor Pluto, humanoid - or at least had those beings 'spiritual essences', since they had merged, after all.
And if those sets of memories weren't confusing enough, now she was beginning to get bits and pieces of the memories of Sailor Pluto, Car-being. Who had existed (if retroactively from the humanoid Pluto's POV) in this Timeline's past, and was apparently one of her previous incarnations. Or maybe she was getting memories from more then one past life as Sailor Pluto - she couldn't really tell, at this point in time, and she didn't much care either, truth be told.
The important things were - she had to see if she could still transform. And if she could access the Time Gate.
If it existed at all now, that is...
OK, OK, first things first.
Since she'd never transformed at all in this lifetime as far as she knew, it would be easier to go Senshi if she had some 'props'. The so-called 'transformation focus' were rather minor Magitech all things considered, and most experienced Senshi could and did transform without them, but it did make things easier if one wasn't used to that kind of thing, she did know that.
So alright - Step 1, summon her 'focus'. Setsuna closed her eyes, and tried to get the 'feel' of it. What would it look like, here? Not a pen, probably -
Thunk. Something had fallen - inside her?
It took a bit of maneuvering in front of the big three-way mirror, but Setsuna eventually managed to figure out that there was now some kind of key-chain with a purple crystal, lying on her dashboard where there had been nothing before. Well, good!
OK, so the next step was - no, wait a minute, she was in the Mugen Uni Dorms, which were known for it's good security. She really should check to see if she wasn't being monitored or something, right?
Or maybe she should just head out of the Mugen School complex entirely, just in case. The mountain areas weren't that far.
Plus, it was almost evening, anyway, now that she'd bothered looking at the clock. Darn. She'd actually slept more then a entire day away...
Well, less dithering and more moving. Meiou Setsuna started to drive.
Somewhat a little more then an hour later, Setsuna was driving away deep into the hills, and the stars were covering the skies. The roads were almost empty, and there were plenty of trees once she got of the road, which did mean adequate cover. She hoped, anyhow.
So now for the next step. And- hey, wasn't that some kind of abandoned garage or something? Just the thing she was looking for.
The abandoned garage wasn't too dirty, though it was full of old magazines and such. Ahh, well. She took a deep breath, banging her gull-wing doors up and down to steady herself. Now.
"Pluto Planet Power - Make UP!!
And then there was a twinkle of light - and a rush.
Sailor Pluto, Car-being, twitched. She felt so much, well, bigger. Stronger, too. And - what were those things inside her?
And then she blinked. She had her own subspace bubble generator? As well as a multi-level Worklink to the Time Gate? And there seemed to be even more...
Darn. She really needed a mirror... The front wheel mirror she usually carried around just did not do, in things like this.
But wait - there should be all kinds of things she could do to see what she was like now at the Time Gate itself, right?
Well, why not. Sailor Pluto smiled.
Subspace bubble, subspace bubble...
Sailor Pluto (Car-being) arrived at the Time Gate, in a stream of rainbow-colored particles.
Though it did look a bit different from what she remembered. Or what her Human self had remembered, anyway.
The new configuration was much more Car-friendly, now. Pluto wheeled up to the nice wide seat in front of the controls. And in that cabinet, shouldn't there be some kind of special refreshments...
Ahh, yes.
Pluto took a good look at herself in the Time Gate monitors, then, sipping at her special gas.
Still a DeLorean, true. Mostly. More or less. With gull-wings. A bit bigger, maybe. Really nice coloring and patterns. The Pluto Mark right in front, where her forehead would have been if she'd had been Human - what an odd thought...
But so much snazzier! And all the other - special functions - were pretty darn nifty, too, if she said so herself...
But...hmmm. Pluto took a good look at herself. She seemed a bit different from her previous Pluto the Car-being self, somehow...
The colors and patterns, maybe?
Then she realized what had happened, and started to giggle. The colors and patterns were obviously influenced from her Humanoid self's Senshi Uniform, now that she'd really looked at them...
