"Well, uh...no. But...." Akane struggled to find something to say, something that would tip the balance back to herself. In truth, she wasn't sure whether or not Ranma should remain marriageable, as she hadn't fully come to terms with her feelings towards girls. All that she knew that Ranma had a quantum effect on her issue.
"I didn't say I wanted your help," Ranma said, pulling her arm away from the clingy sister. "Just like I didn't say I wanted you."
"Say When, then," Nabiki kept her smile. "Once you're legally declared female, the only marriage you can have is with a guy. Then the only way the two schools of Anything-Goes can be united is if you marry Daddy."
Ranma grimaced at that thought. {Aha, 'he's' too slow to realize that a baby is the one that ultimate unites them.}
Nabiki took 'his' arm again.
Suddenly there was a boom from outside, and she was pulled off her tabi feet as Ranma ran to investigate.
The redhead was just in time to have a face smack an exposed breast full on. Nabiki let go of 'his' arm just in time.
"RANMA!!" Akane screamed as 'he' and the stranger were hurled across the common room, skidding across the floor, loosening tatami mats, upending the table, and making a general mess of the place before they slammed against the far wall.
Nabiki wasn't looking in that direction, however, but where the man had come from. It was a second story window overlooking their garden wall. Using her rusty martial arts senses, she thought she made out a telescope and a listening dish. The man was part of a stake out!
"And once he confirmed Ranma's presence, he was fired from a human cannonball type device." Not the larger version, of course. Nabiki's grin grew large. "Ranma must be big, valuable news."
