DemonKen: Not so serene [Episode 175783]

by Kestral

James was a Gunner, a desperado. He had come from a Netherworld known as Veldime to compete in a tournament. He stayed when the rest of his team had lost and moved on.

Honestly, he didn't have a particular loyalty to Ranma. Just that the boy seemed to have interesting things going on around him, and the boy ALSO attracted one of the things James found most fascinating. Which was to say, cute females.

The recent adventures through Personaworlds and Item Worlds had given him some extra levelling as far as the Fight Channel's stats were concerned but those never really mattered that much to James. He was, first and foremost, a pervert. He wore the title proudly, it wasn't as if it were something BAD - not in his book at least. He didn't force his attentions on anyone, and most women just sensed the lechery (or noted his expression and eyes) and avoided him.

It was okay, in James' opinion. In his experience, imagination often was better than reality.

He glanced at his stats and shook his head, wanting to dispute a few things about the information shown.

He smirked at that last though. When they'd gone to visit Transylikonn, he'd picked up an unusual tracking device. MUCH more useful than a Nightscope or Destiny Lens. Why - that hentai scientist had been downright inspirational!

An X-Lens, an optical device which could not only be set to see through female garments, but could record and playback and even see through walls under the right conditions. Everyone knew he had a lecherous grin, but hardly anyone knew WHY he was always sporting it.

How had Serenity managed to bribe such an outstanding moral character?

She'd apparently recognized the visor and had made him promise to make copies while he occupied the room next door.

"Don't worry," James assured the barrel as he moved it into the seraglio next to the big bed, "you'll be safe here."

Ranma didn't answer, having a bad feeling about this.

James went into the next room. He didn't think he'd have to wait long.

Circles of light appeared in midair, then scrollworked out in a pattern that left a crescent-moon shape at the center. Serenity stepped out of the glowing pattern and considered the barrel sitting there.

Of course she had thrown off the majority of the programming. As far as she could tell, Morrigan had likewise thrown it off some time ago. She suspected a few others had as well, but had never gotten around to asking.

Well, she was certainly interested in certain aspects of this relationship. Especially with the discussion she'd had with Morrigan and Felicia. Morrigan was going to aim for Dark General status apparently. She herself was aiming for Health Minister. It would be a LOT less stressful than Queen, and she was going to try for weekends off.

Now, there ought to be a prybar right around... here.

Morrigan and Felicia would be nearby, if she needed help. She really doubted that would be required though.
