Ran: Prince of Pluto: Awakening a sleeping dragon [Episode 175868]

by The Demented Redhead

A lone figure made his way out of the reactor control room of Castle Pluto. He had been there for hours; waiting as deuterium was made and processed from an asteroid he had teleported in with from the Oort Cloud. He had been busy these last few days; restarting the power sources for the castles that formerly ruled this system.

Now, they were dead husks, forgotten guardians over now dead worlds.

Well, not as dead as they were before he started.

He stopped, propping himself up against the corridor wall with one hand, his other clutching his head, the pain surging again.

It had been like that for days now, the occasional bout of two minds dueling, merging, attempting to find existence, define existence, define themselves.

But it would end soon.

Soon, he would no longer be either, or a mixture of both.

He laughed a little. For all he knew, he might very well go crazy and slaughter people by the millions.

Wouldn’t be the first time.

So he made his way to his former room, since power had been restored to maximum levels.

Still, things could only get more interesting. Especially when they realized what he was doing.

“At last, the foul sorcerer comes to face his end!”

Ranma lowered his head, shaking it. “Kuno, I ain’t got time for this shit. Why don’t you get a clue and die already?”

“I finally decree that our game ends today, Saotome. Today, I shall free the fierce tigress and my beloved pigtail girl from your clutches by banishing you with the assistance of these lowly peasants when I reveal to them the truth of your poisoned soul!”

Ranma straightened up, stretching his muscles. The last time Kuno said he had something that would give him help like that; he ended up summoning a hundred zombies. “What is it now, baka?”

He was then splashed with a warm liquid. Looking up to the idiot kendo student, Ranma just smirked. “Was that supposed to do something?”

Kuno ignored him, raising his bokken into the air. “Now, the foul sorcerer shall be revealed for whom he truly doth be. The liquid was given to me by a holy man, who promised that it would reveal the hidden evils that dare to cloth themselves as men, and stand in the way of the Blue Thunder, and his lady loves!”

Ranma just sighed. Great, probably turn my hair green or something. “Listen, jackass, the only...” Ranma forced himself steady as a wave of dizziness flooded his mind.

And when he opened his eyes again, he wasn’t Ranma in soul anymore. “So, your foolishness knows no bounds, child.”

Kuno just smiled, lowering his bokken until it pointed at Ranma. “So, the demon finally reveals himself!”

“I never claimed to be a demon. People just tend to call you that when you start ripping creatures of evil apart with your bare hands.” Ranma began to stretch his form, preparing for battle. “I think I’ll just cripple you. Maybe losing your ability to handle a sword forever will make you see reason.” As he began to move forward, he stopped and bowed. “Oh, and the name isn’t ‘foul sorcerer’, it is Ran, Prince of Pluto.”

Then Kuno’s world exploded in pain.

Akane just stared with the rest of the school, still lost in the shock of what had occurred.

For the lack of a better term, Ranma had lost it.

Kuno was embedded in the retainer wall, his right arm obviously broke.

Ryoga; who had come along, beaten as well. Ranma had actually caught the berserker’s punch, and proceeded to...overpower...Ryoga.

Mousse...Mousse was out cold, which was probably for the best, considering where Ranma had...shoved...some of the Hidden Weapons Master’s equipment.

Akane just sat there in shock as the medical personnel went about trying to help the injured parties. Nabiki had gone off to get their things, and would soon return to escort Akane home.

The look on the face of the Ice Queen truly showed how bad things were.

Nabiki...was afraid.

As the two sisters left the school, both just wanted to head home, and try and make sense of what had happened to the pigtailed boy who had been their housemate for almost a year.

What Ranma had done to those rivals wasn’t Ranma. His eyes had gone from their usual steel blue to a slightly more purple tone, giving way to a more demonic appearance. His hair had gone from all black to black and green.

What this meant for his girl form was uncertain.

What this meant for any that challenged him...meant they would be lucky with death.

In her mind, where no one would see or hear it, where even Akane would admit openly her feelings for Ranma—she felt that the man she had grown to love, was now gone forever.
