Neo-Were-Cheetah: Born of Two Worlds [Episode 176376]

by The Demented Redhead

“Hello Gar, Sheila,” smiled Nabiki, bowing slightly. “May I ask who your friend is?”

It had been another shock to them when they finally arrived in Seer’s Hamlet, the sheer amount of diversity. They had learned about were-creatures, undead, mages, elves, trolls, and any other enchanted creature they had ever heard of. Ghosts being common-place had been a shock.

Granted, less of a shock than bubbly Amazons wishing to bed Ranma, but still quite a shock.

“This is my Sensei,” said Gar, “Armsmaster Julia Diggers.”

Nabiki bowed to her as well.

The ghost appeared surprised for a moment. “You can see me, Miss?”

Nabiki nodded, wondering why the ghost was speaking so softly. “Why wouldn’t I be able to?”

“Sensei is under a curse,” said Gar. “People born on Earth can only see her one day out of the year, and that day passed about a week ago. Since the were-cheetah were never allowed to move to Jade because of their war with the werewolves, you shouldn't be able to.”

Nabiki nodded. She could understand it a bit. True, she and Ranma had been born on Earth, but they had also been born once again in the Undead Realm, thanks to the sibling sex demons. “To me, she appears like a ghost, speaks kind of quietly as well.”

Julia absorbed this, adding it to her suspicions that Gar had told her about. It just wasn’t possible. If you were born on Earth, she was intangible at the moment. If you were born anywhere else, you could see, touch, and hear her.

“I wonder why you see her partially?” wondered Sheila.

“It may have to deal with the circumstances of how Ranma and I came to be here,” said Nabiki.

“You never did tell us much about that,” said Gar, eyes narrowed.

“Care to exchange life stories?” smiled Nabiki, knowing that like themselves, Gar and Sheila had their own demons to deal with. “If so, it’ll have to wait. Ranma will be fighting Karia soon, and I’d rather not miss it.”

“Then we should go,” said Julia, motioning for them to lead the way, already making plans to have her husband come and examine the new were-cheetah that had appeared. If anyone would be able to figure it out, or even get the couple to trust them it would be Theo. He had that knack to do that.

Well, to everyone but her mother. But that was to be expected.

Ranma stretched a bit, looking up to the small stands to see if Nabiki had shown up yet. Nali was there, as well as a few others from the clinic.

There were even a few of the Amazons of this world, smiling and waving at him, commenting on his body, if his ears heard correctly.

They were then commenting about the blush he was developing.

He continued to stretch his body, even as he felt a shift in the chi of the battlefield. According to Karia, her arena contained a similar spell to what was found at the Armsmaster Arena, preventing people from accessing the Ethereal Stream. From what he could gather, it prevented them, even chi users, from gathering any energy to perform their moves.

But Ranma didn’t have that problem. Unlike the chi mages here, he had an internal supply, thus he had ki to use. Granted, it would be harder to recover with that field still active, since even he could draw on the energy around him to replenish it ... slowly. He just didn’t know how to access it as easily as the mages did.

But it did make him wonder if that Ethereal Stream was how Herb and even Saffron had been so powerful. Dragons had a natural ability to use it, which explained why Herb seemed to have such strong reserves; they just refilled the moment he used them. Did the same go for Saffron as well. He figured he’d have to ask about that when he had the time.

Of course, that would be after he discussed it with Nabiki first. He didn’t want to say anything that would get them into trouble. As things stood now, he was having a semi-normal life. No aggressive fiancées, no aggressive challengers, no dimwit pandas, no perverted old letches, no crazy Kuno Clan...

It was actually kind of nice. He could work on his Art, learn new things because he wanted to, not because he needed to. He could wake up peacefully, go to sleep in peace. He didn’t have to worry about people demanding his attention, or accept the blame they wanted to foist onto him.

Well, he still had Amazon problems, but they were willing to be patient about it. He didn’t know if he really wanted to be the father of a new race. Hell, he still felt he was too young to even be a father.

“Have a good fight, Saotome!”

He looked up, spotting Nabiki, the two were-jaguars, and ... a ghost? “Oh well,” he muttered. “I’ll find out later.”
